Low performance card. HORRIBLE COMPANY
The card performs okay most of the time. However, the stated spec isn't usually seen. The company is horrible if you ever have a problem. About the worst supoort I have ever experienced.

Works well with Oculus!
Four discrete channels of USB 3.1 are just what the doctor ordered to stop the hiccups I was experiencing in VR. I've got two sensors, the oculus and a head tracking camera attached to the same card and because it has four independent channels everything works perfectly. No usb bottleneck and no conflicts with any other device. Fantastic!

Great card if you have the "Know How"
My OS is Windows 8.1 64. I need to use this card to access a shared drive on my PC with other computers on my network. My shared drives are 4Tb each; both plugged into a docking station. During my initial install of the card, Windows did not install the correct drivers for the chip-set on the card. I had to search for the correct drivers: ASMedia xHCI Host Controller Driver 1.16.45.1. Once I downloaded the drivers, it was still tricky to get them installed as they are not "signed" through Microsoft. Therefore, you have to override the default and allow the driver to be installed. I had to use a manual install process which was described in a ReadMe.txt file included with the drivers. Then, you MUST make sure your device, in my case, the docking station was USB 3.1 Gen 2 compatible. Finally, you have to make sure that all of the cables and hubs between your device and the card are also USB 3.2 Gen 2. If you are successful in accomplishing all of the above, you will be satisfied with your new card. For me, it represented quite a few upgrades and purchases. With all of that said, you should be happy with your purchase because the speed is a big reward. This whole process in not for those who are not dedicated to achieving the end result of 10 Gb/sec. It takes time patience and understanding of the technologies involved. It is unfortunate that the drivers are not "signed" through Microsoft. It is also unfortunate that High Point does not ship the drivers with the card; they should along with the appropriate instructions for the install as well as a detailed explanation on the proper selection of peripherals and cabling. I still think that the card is the best out there at this time. I have purchased two of these cards. Both arrived from Amazon later than promised.

Great product, easy instal
This is my third High Point PCIE card. All work great. High Point is one of the few companies providing full bandwidth per port, and all products I've purchased to date have worked well.

Randomly Ejects Devices - 2010 Mac Pro
I installed this card into my 12 Core Mid 2010 Mac Pro. Installation was so-so. I had trouble reading any devices at first until i restarted my computer. It worked ok at first, but after a few hours of file transfer testing it randomly ejected all the devices plugged directly in to it.Weird thing was it didn't eject them all at once. A cascade effect happened where one after another would unmount with about a minute in between each. This happened three times throughout my testing and I found one trigger point. Running First Aid in Disk Utility caused the card to crash the last time.Note: I installed this card hoping it would give me more headroom and faster data transfer speeds than my current 1x PCI Lane USB 3.0 Gen 1 card @ 5 GT/s Link Speed. This card boasts 2x PCI Lanes, USB 3.1 Gen 2 @ 8 GT/s Link Speed Per Lane. I saw no difference in transfer speeds because I didn't realize this device merely uses the USB 3.0 protocol to transfer files. I would only see a boost in speed using hard drives with faster Read/Write speeds. Plus the PCI 2.0 slots in my computer are the real bottle neck.

PCIe 3.0 x4 Full 10 Gb/s Per Port
This card has 2x ASM3142 controllers on a PCIe 3.0 x4 PLX switch, with 2 USB ports per controller. Each controller is PCIe 3.0 x2 20 Gb/s, for a total of 10 Gb/s per port. The ASMedia controllers are finicky about USB 3.0 cables, and it's not related to cable quality. I have several USB-A to USB-C cables which run only at USB 2.0 speed to a Logitech BRIO webcam on the ASM2142 and ASM3142 controllers. Only one shorter cable runs at USB 3.0 speed to the Logitech BRIO. However all the cables run at USB 3.0 speed on the Intel and FL1100 controllers.Similarly I have several USB 3.2 Gen 2 drives which run only at SuperSpeed (5 Gb/s) and not SuperSpeedPlus (10 Gb/s). Given that I've never seen this board run above 5 Gb/s, I recommend the discontinued Sonnet USB3-PRO-4P10-E with 4x FL1100 5 Gb/s controllers on PCIe 2.0 x4.

Why did I received an used card???
To my surprise when I opened the box, the seal on the static plastic bag containing the card was broken and can clearly see marks on the golden pins and finger print near one of the USB ports.I pay full price for a NEW product and NOT and USED or OPEN BOX one.Very Lame

It will probably work.
Sadly not functional on arrival. Beware buying in Canada the support will not cover any shipping for exchange. Still working things out. Have use this company in the past and they have good products. Just experiencing hard support during this darn COVID.
