KAJUKENBO The Instructors Manual Review: Great resource for any Kajukenbo practitioner. - The most comprehensive historical work on Kajukenbo to date. This book offers great insight into Kajukenbo roots and the growth of many branches. Jam packed with small black and white photographs of techniques. More photographs than any other publication. Pictures are small and picture quality is low, but you'll never find so many in one collection - this is a high quality work and a great collection for the price. The book offers a genuine look at many common practices many of us take for granted. There are some minor stylistic markers unique to Mr. Whittle's specific lineage, but very useful and overall has universal Kajukenbo appeal. Breaks down 25 Grab Arts, 10 Punch Counters, 21 Tricks, all 26 Alphabets, all 14 Palama Sets, and countless sets, techniques, two man defenses, club defenses, exercises, grappling, self defense applications, kick defenses, drills, rolls, one and two man forms, combinations, joint locks, blocks, kicks, takedowns, breathing exercises, fist positions, throws, theories and concepts, foot maneuvers, training injury treatment, translations, patch pictures and explanations, a limited family tree, the best Kajukenbo timeline ever complied and published, belt requirements, a list of 8th and 9th degree instructors ..... And lots more! This is an incredible achievement and an immense gift to the Kajukenbo world. This is a must have worth every penny. Any future editions and updates should be very exciting! Thank you Grand Master Whittle. Review: Great for an instructor - It will teach you everything you need to know

Great Book detailing Kajukenbo.
I've been practicing Kajukenbo for just over a year now and want to read up on the art. This book and John Bishop's books are a must. The only down side to this one is the quality of the images. There small and pixelated. Otherwise a top notch book.

A Comprehensive look at the art!
I am no Kajukenbo man. I had fairly long training in Hung Ga, Xing Yi Quan and Ba Gua Zhang. I learned a trick or two and a grab art or two through my Xing Yi/Bagua teacher, who had at some point reached 5th dan under Vince Black. I don't think he practices Kajukenbo these days, though who knows! Still, these kind of self-defense paired practice things that are important components of this art are very interesting. I can see how someone could get to the point where the ad-lib aspect could take over-in a sense making set patterns unnecessary. Still, such practice helps people learn distancing and timing as well as tactics. This book is very complete, and because of it's completeness needed to save space, thus making the photos a bit small. Still, if you practiced this art, the book would go a long way toward helping you recall something learned before, or even acquire a few new ideas and methods. Kajukenbo emphasis on two-man training and conditioning is not utterly unique, but its ability to take things in from sources and incorporate it while expressing key principles of the art is a cool thing. Thanks to the author for taking the trouble to compile all of this! Other arts could see interesting things to do with their own content looking at this as well.

Great book small pictures.
The best book I could find on kajukenbo. This book is full with details on kajukenbo, however the pictures are very small. If this book is ever released in e-book format I hope they fix this problem.
