Not something I’d be too worried about 8 year old using, but they are super sharp, so I’d be cautious with them. Aesthetically, they look nice. Dark black with a really crisp clean look to them. They cut where you put them whereas some other clippers don’t always cut where you think you’re going to cut. Yes you read it right! The metal is so thin that it would completely bend if falls on the floor. The sizes are so tiny that I had to give to my kid to play with it. It is just impractical! And I got a brown leather type thing instead of the green one.. though amazon gave a refund, this product is not meant for heavy duty (regular) use
