I was desperate and this actually worked!
We got a new dog who barks at every noise coming from the hallway of our apartment complex. We love him dearly, but needed something to ease his anxiety and keep our neighbors sane.I combined this with AudioMute’s Isole sound barrier sheet and now the sound coming from the hall way (and from our apartment to the hallway) is quite muffled. By no means does this completely block sound, but it is a pretty drastic change in volume. Our front door fits terribly in its door frame. This kit created a seal in all the gaps. I used a flashlight to test the seal for any gaps where the light could shine through. Then I would double up the seal in those places so that I could creat a custom seal for our door frame. I had to remove several strips as I was figuring it out. The adhesive is very strong and will leave a lot of residue behind when you remove the strips. But it did not rip any paint off of our door frame. I got the larger kit size and only have a little left after all my attempts to get the perfect seal. So if you’re not confident in applying it then you may want the larger size.Really happy with the results!

Works better than advertised. Great product!!
It works better than advertised!!! Six years of sound proofing dilemma at a three-unit condo / vacation rental solved instantly!! A truly amazing product. I bought one and then two more. Advice: double up by installing one where the door makes contact with the frame (IF space allows) and then around the bend - so making the grey sound proofing tape bend around the door frame corner. Will upload pics later. Sweepers work too phenomenally. My wife and property manager and I were all astounded by the compete sound insulation - it went from being able to hear a whisper to being unable to hear loud music and loud voice. Thank you for the great product!

It Works - IF You Figure Out How to Install Properly
Is the concept sound (no pun intended)? Can the seal deliver on that concept?Yes and yes. But it all depends on the install. If you expect easy peasy 1-2-3 good luck with that.Chances are if you have a sound issue in the first place, your doors are less than perfect as well. I never realized till now most doors are really just a visual barrier rather than sound barrier. That's because, per all the acoustic science I've been forced to learn, if any air or light can pass through then sound will as well. Therefore, be absolutely sure to thoroughly use the light test around the entire perimeter, cupping your hands around areas if necessary and/or patiently waiting for your eyes to adjust to the dark as you turn off the lights to test.It wasn't long before I gave up on having the thing look pretty and stitched together a door seal only Frankenstein could love, adding double and triple layers here and there ad hoc. Speaking of which, you'll want to err on the side of buying extra seal. I bought one large kit and one standard kit, and by some miracle I managed to have exactly enough for three doors of varying sizes (large entrance, medium bedroom and small bath). Finally, the door sweep. Egad. Unless your door is cut extremely even and your floor is extremely smooth and forgiving, it simply won't hold in place but rather cram up and under till it falls off. What I had to do for one door is actually use only a partial sweep on the door by the deep area where I could practically fit my fingers under, and then for the shallow area put the sweep on the floor instead. Not pretty but it allows the door to open and close manageably enough (but with firm shove). All in all, be prepared to make some compromises in appearance and/or ease of opening/closing door. If you don't, and permit so much as a pinhole of light through, per acoustic science you will exponentially reduce performance.By doing what I did it cut the sound of iPhone music max volume by around 60-70%, without any Isole or other product. Hope this helps!

Does damage paint.
This product definitely damages paint. I would recommend not going this route if you need something removable. This does do it's job, but I had to spend extra money and time to buy paint after removal

Works great, easy to apply
This product is like weather stripping, but on steroids, and the dimensions and materials for the "sweep" at the bottom of the door have been perfect for me.My task was to further soundproof a door between my studio control room and my drum/vocal booth. I took room dB readings before and after applying the soundproofing acoustic door seal kit and the volume easily dropped more than 10dB. I then applied my "producer's blankets" to the door and got another 5dB when applied to one side and, with somewhat lighter blankets on the other side, another 3-5dB. In just a matter of an hour, the control room is now about 20dB quieter, and the sound in the booth is quiet enough for drums while still having a bit of "live" feel to it.Just perfect. Affordable, effective.Key tip: Carefully examine the door's gaps and where you want to place the acoustic treatment. In my case, I placed the stripping both on the door and on the door frame, in such a way that the seal was tighter and no light appeared anywhere. Also, check how the door is hung and how it swings, to make sure you set the sweep correctly. It needs to be tight when closed -- but if the door is hung oddly or the floor is not perfectly flat, you may find it doesn't make contact with the floor/carpet at all times. That's fine. Just study it all well.Have scissors or an Exacto knife handy. This stuff is sticky and you want to minimize having to walk around with it. :)

Excellent Value
I am very happy with this product. it was easy to install and exceeded my expectations. It does a great job of reducing noise..if you’re expecting it to block out all sound, you don’t understand how sound travels.
