Works great except when it’s humid. We left it overnight with the previous days grounds in it and it got so humid that night that the wooden lid expanded and cracked the glass. That was definitely user error so I’m not taking any stars away but just a warning! Don’t close it it with wet grounds in it in case it gets humid in your house😂

I was hesitant about this press when I saw reviews about it cracking. I made sure to “preheat” it as per the directions. Which makes sense. Common sense will tell you to not pour boiling hot water in a glass carafe. I only heat my water to 185-190• anyway. It made a perfect cup of coffee. It was easy to operate and easy to clean. The value for the money is great and it looks cute as hell on my countertop ❤️👍🏻

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Very pretty! The glass of the carafe could stand to be thicker and less brittle, I'm definitely wary of its fragility but no issues so far and it does a great job. Love that it's plastic free *and* in a small size. That's hard to come by apparently.

Update: I didn't realize it at first but the beaker had a hairline crack that expanded. Luckily I noticed in time and I was able to get a replacement from Amazon. I do wish that the glass was a bit thicker for this product. I still wanted a different handle material, so I wound up ordering a "Bodum Chambord Coffee Maker 3 Cup 0.35 Liter 12 Ounce Shiny" french press used from Amazon Warehouse for $15 in "like new condition." It was a bit of a tight fit but the glass beaker did fit into the Bodum stainless steel stand. I am currently using this brand's glass beaker and bamboo lid with the Bodum stainless steel holder that has a plastic handle. I really do like this french press overall and I would give it 5 stars if the handle was a more durable material such as stainless steel, plastic, or silicone. Original Review: I ordered this 12 oz French press and Ascot glass electric kettle based on Tamara Rubin’s advice for nontoxic and lead free kitchen items. It is beautiful but I wish the handle was either stainless steel or even plastic so that it could go through the dishwasher and there would be less worry of deterioration. I have hand washed it a few times and you can the see the bamboo is already drying out a bit on the handle. I am not having this problem with the bamboo top. I know that I could oil it but ideally I would like something that I could just rinse and pop into the dishwasher. I went so far as to order the same brand’s 12 oz version with a black plastic handle and lid to use for parts. I was hoping to swap out just the handle portion so that I would have the black handle with the original glass beaker without writing with the bamboo lid (I do not want the plastic lid touching the hot coffee). However, the glass beaker for the 12 oz glass/plastic combo is narrower. The bamboo lid is unable to press down as shown in the picture. It’s definitely a bummer. I am still trying to figure out what I want to do. I could possibly remove the beaker from the bamboo handle before washing it but I like to wash it right away and it’s very hot. I am debating if I should just switch over to another brand that is all glass and stainless steel. I saw a 34 oz one at IKEA that was reasonably priced.

I bought this with the intention of only occasional use, for that once in a while extra afternoon where I need a kick. I used it less than a dozen times before it shattered while being washed. Very disappointed and I do not recommend it. There is no warranty on any of its features. additional comment, after the above review, the seller, Sivaphe, contacted me to tell me that they wished to send me a new replacement Press, they asked me to contact them, though did not tell me how. I spent several hours, trying to figure out what they wanted me to do and then, going through Amazon, spent more that another hour trying to figure out how to contact them. with the help of Amazon this was achieved. I have to say that in pre Covid times I would never have had the time to do this. In any case after only a couple days Sivaphe contacted me directly by email to tell me that they had changed their mind and would not send me a new replacement. They did again ask me to contact them. again not telling me how and offer to help me in any way that they can, after telling me that they would not help. On the whole, I find that more than disappointing, I find it down right annoying. I will not recommend their product, there are many other companies that make all sorts of French Press, and coffee making devices. I have replaced this press with one of stainless steel from Utopia. I have used this one several times already and enjoyed my coffee.

Nice quality. Makes great coffee and easy to clean. I bought one for myself and liked it so much that I have given 2 as gifts.

I wanted a French press for one or two servings. This is a perfect size. It looks so cute displayed on a tray with coffee accessories or as part of decor on a stand in my kitchen . It makes wonderful cold brew and no coffee grinds ever escape into my cup. From hot to cold it is very durable and super easy to clean. My one con would be that I wish the lid was 1/4” deeper in order to fully cover the pour spout. I have to cover spout with plastic wrap when keeping in fridge for my cold brews as it sits for several hours. I still give it five stars and anticipate being able to use this a long time. Comes with replacement filters too! Update 1/25/22: I just used this to make cold foam!! As if I couldn’t love this enough. 6-7 quick pumps and you have perfectly formed microform.

Good: love the fact it has no plastic. Bad: the knob on top has split and will most likely fall off after 4 weeks of use.

It does the trick, you get spare filters and it looks nice. Big enough for 1 standard cup of coffee.

I agree with others that this is a nice looking press. I bought it because it doesn't contain any plastic. However, the little knob at the top is made in 2 parts and came off in my hand the first time we used it. Additionally, the metal that encases the glass carafe is rather loose fitting and you have to be ever so careful when pouring or emptying that the glass doesn't just slide right out and break. I think maybe we just got a dud. Update: seller contacted me and sent a replacement. The glass carafe fits nice and snug. No problems. Good customer service. Thank you

I purchased this for my mother whose plastic one was awkward to use, hard to clean and cumbersome. She is delighted with this. Aesthetically pleasing too.

It’s a great looking product but be aware it is a little wobbly, as the metal frame overlaps under with and the legs aren’t sized to make up for the mm difference, it’s a very small thing, but if you were anxious around hot liquids it might not be for you.
