I use a lot of this stuff. It works great. I wouldn't say it's the best as a topping (it's mostly a popping oil) but it does add a little bit of flavor.

It is oil that is mildly butter flavored. The butter flavor has an artificial like quality. If you like movie theater popcorn, you might enjoy this product. I find it best as a popping oil. I have to use quite a bit to get a buttery colored popcorn. I use up to 1/3 of a cup in a whirley pop with 1/2 cup kernels and 3/4 teaspoon of flavacol popcorn salt. The result is very similar to typical movie theater popcorn with that mild artificial butter flavor and aroma that people seem to enjoy. For the best popcorn, I would suggest tossing popped corn with real melted butter as well. This will enhance the butter flavor. This product is not great when added to already popped corn, the flavor is not like butter in any way and is very oily. I would recommend using this product as a popping oil in a larger quantity than you might think and finishing the popped corn with melted butter.
