Quality Control Issue! UPDATE - Oct 2, 2016
Just opened the package to check parts and found the inboard flange of the deflector on the side that has two, warped badly. It should be flat as the the two outboards and would almost certainly affect the install and fit. Don't think this occurred during transit, more like during manufacture and curing. Will be returning to vendor! Poor quality control as the attached photo shows...... I will update later when I get a decent quality shield from the vendor that is not damaged and fits. UPDATE: 6-10-2016....first let me say that I wish this would work for me like it has for others. Your installed photos look great! However, there is absolutely NO doubt in my mind that Lund has a quality control issue with this item. Some luck out, while others like me and one other reviewer, are out of luck. Having returned the badly warped one, I quickly received a replacement. It, too, was warped - exact same flange, the middle one. OK, it wasn't as bad as the original order, but it was definitely damaged. Clearly, word had not filtered through to the warehouse or fulfillment centers from Amazon call centers! That's why the problem was not rectified. After several conversations with Amazon, reluctantly, I was forced to ask for a refund. What would other readers have done? Gone for third time lucky? How many returns later? Sorry, but this simply did not work for me, much as I wanted it to. Amazon-Lund, you need to fix this anomaly because it does exist. Update: Oct 2, 2016 Let me start by saying that it was because of other reviewers' comments, advice and photos, that I decided to try this for the THIRD time. Please note also that I have removed my original 3 photos showing the "deformed" center flange. Finally, this Lund bug shield came from a DIFFERENT vendor. Decided to install it today having checked all the hardware and directions which were simple enough. The install took about 10 minutes with no outside assistance and just a Phillips screwdriver. It was installed on my 2015 Honda CRV EX. If your hood looks like my photos, you have those three, pre-drilled SQUARE holes and you follow the picture instructions, it should fit other year models as well. For a 100% answer on that, ask the vendor or use Amazon's MyGarage feature, preferably both. What I learned was that if the center flange is slightly warped, it really doesn't matter. Second, you do NOT have to drill or tape anything. You do not have to remove the rubber seal (which is on the underneath lip of the good) or even cut/trim it. The three square holes are beyond that rubber seal and it's those holes that you insert the three nylon studs. Having got this far, you present the bug shield and align it with the holes. Next the nylon washer and finally the stainless steel screws. It's important to do the outside ones first - and finger tight initially - then the center one. Finally, tighten all three but not too tight. You may need to adjust slightly before final tightening to ensure the bug shield is positioned correctly over the center position. The real test is to be able to carefully shut the hood without breaking anything! I would suggest allow it to rest on the spring then push it shut with your weight down on it. I even tried opening and shutting it a few times and it worked, no problem. As the photos show, it looks very nice. Of course, I cannot comment (yet) on any whistling sounds while driving! Since other reviewers provided me with much information, I'd like to return the favor and hope these instructions and photos will help someone else's decision-making. Thank you all.....

Get a bug shield to reduce paint chips on your hood!
Installed in less than three minutes on my 2014 Honda CRV; there are only three screws to tighten. TIP: Only hand tighten all three screws first so you can align the bug shield in the proper position before doing the final tightening. This bug shield looks good, and it blends in to the contour of the hood so it does not stand out or take away from the aerodynamic look. My only concern is it does not extend the full width of the hood, instead extending about two to three inches over each of the headlights; it is, however, wider than the Honda OEM bug shield and is priced at about half the cost. NOTE: After I got a big dent and paint chip on the hood of my previous car, I installed a bug shield on my pickup truck eight years ago and I don't have a single paint chip on my truck's hood. This paid for itself many times over, and I will always get one for my cars.

Installs quickly and looks great
Quality part - fits into existing holes underneath hood. Goes on quickly - looks great. Provides space between hood and deflector so you won't damage your hood. I've used these for years - and have read reviews questioning the usefulness and value of a hood deflector. I can say without doubt - after many years of being on a hood - the finish on the hood seems to be undamaged by stones or bugs.

Nice look, easy to install, very stylish
Love this hood protector. I was starting to get rock chips on my hood. I hope this works as it should. The install was a snap. Everything in the package comes with it to make a perfect install. No drilling or difficult ways to mount it to your hood. It was as easy as 3 clips that snap into the under side of the hood, and then screwing the 3 screws (supplied) into the clips. The biggest thing to consider is not to tighten each screw one at a time. Make sure you have started all 3 screws in the holes and started before tightening all 3. The look adds a lot to the car and has a good look, with added protection.

The right bugflector for your Honda CRV
Okay let me begin by saying I really like this item It came to me well boxed and intact. After reading reviews on this product I was a bit skeptical but took a chance on it and so far am glad I did. It fits my 2015 Honda CRV EX perfiectly. I choose this so I did not have to use any adhesive on any painted surfaces nor did I have to drill any holes. The holes in this bugflector matched up with the holes on the underside of my hood so all I had to do was use the included hardware to secure it in place and CHA-CHING there it was installed in a matter of minurtes!! For the poor soul who wrote the review complaining about the center flange being warped or bent... HELLO fella.. it is SUPPOSED TO BE THAT WAY.!! It fits nicely and does not prevent my hood from closing flush . BUT...PLEASE LEARN FROM MY MISTAKE WHEN INSTALLING!! I recommend that before installing this that you put a large sheet or towel over your engine block. I did not do this the first time and a couple of the small pieces of mounting hardware fell from my hand while installing and went into the engine block somewhere and I never found them. I had to contact the Lund Co. by the 800 number on the paperwork and get replacement hardware. BTW Lund was very helpful and sent it out overnight shipment . Accolades to Lund Co. The only reason I did not give it a 5 star rating is because it does not extend over the very ends of the hood that line up with the headlights. It only covers the middle of the hood. Oh well, so far so good. It looks sleek and sporty and I expect it to do just fine .

I installed it in 5 minutes, of course the center tab is bent, it needs to be like that to fit the hood shape. I will wait and see if it makes a whistling sound, if so I will update my comment. It had a logo glued to it which can be removed without leaving any marks. It looks very good.

Am very pleased with fit and finish. Easy to install and bolts directly to existing holes with supplied clips. I think this is much better than the stick- on style that uses tape that is impossible to remove if you need to take it off for any reason.

Had a few different models to choose from which each have their own advantages and disadvantages. This one is priced well below an OEM Honda piece. This model does not involve applying adhesives to the paint. It is mounted using 3 existing holes and the supplied hardware, frankly installation could not be easier. Its coverage is limited to the grill portion of the hood and does not cover above the headlights. Choosing another manufacturer which provides more coverage should be your only reason to choose another manufacturer ( IMHO)
