I will give this 4 stars. One off because the instructions are NOT in English and rather worthless. I seen a few English words scattered around and the print is so small I couldn't read it with my 5 inch magnifying glass.The second reason is this device is VERY dependent on the USB port it is connected to. It will NOT run in any usb 3.0 port I tried. I installed it on 3 different computers. It would not run on the 4 core win7 32 bit machine. It would run on the win7 x64 laptop. On the 12core win7 desktop it would not run on usb ports on the front of the desktop but works on usb 2.0 ports on the back of the computer. When it has trouble connecting then connects and disconnects try a different usb port. The mini disk worked good, no problems installing software. I bought this to replace the 15 yr old adapter in my wife's desktop but it would NOT even see the router 20 feet away. On the laptop it see's the same router 60 feet away. So it appears to me that it doesn't would well with Win7 when it has a 32 bit operating system. I had to point windows to the location of the driver files to get them to install, the wizard on the CD couldn't seem to complete the install job. (On the 32 bit machine) I even loaded the CD on a flash drive and that didn't help.When it works it works very well, when it doesn't of course you get nothing. Depends on the OS, and which port you use.

Well like a lot of other people say on here for the one Star reviews the product started off good then noticed after a few weeks it started giving me trouble to connect until like a couple of days later said "Device Malfunctioned" I can't even return the product past the window frame. Unfortunately has obviously cheap cheap components internally that will not last. I bought this in end of December 2017 then my window frame for return is 30 days according to amazon says window frame closed. My bad to buy a product that a someone warrants for only 30 days. Highly disappointing that they don't back up the product for at least a year. I did not hurry in looking into RMA because I truly believed I had a year. I also noticed when I bought the product it had less one star reviews. Now that I went back in to check for RMA I noticed it has increased in one star reviews. Do your self a favor find yourself a favor and buy another product that works the same speed or better but that does back up their products and warrant their products more than 30 days. I hope this review will help another person.

Connects / Disconnects and so on. I have two of these and have to return both. We ordered another brand, which doesn't have this problem.

EDIT: On Feb 25th, just under a month after purchasing, this adapter broke. I rarely ever unplugged It, and kept It straight most of the time. Upon trying to flip It up yesterday like In the pictures, there was a sickening pop and It went dead. Luckily It broke within the return period so I will be getting a refund and buying another one! Although admittedly fragile, I think for the price and the results It gives me, It Is still well worth It.ORIGINAL REVIEW: My laptop is very old, and the internal wireless adapter is basically completely dead. Without this adapter, I can only access wifi if I am less than five feet from the router. Upon activating the adapter, I got a full five bars downstairs where the router is, and four bars in my bedroom upstairs! My laptop is running Windows 8, and does not have a disk drive. Using the link that the seller provided in the Q&A section worked perfectly for me!The only thing left to do is wait, as there have been quite a few reviews that state that it only worked for a few days/weeks. I will update this accordingly if/when it breaks and list its lifespan. I don't know that this is worth the full $70, but for $20? Heck yes!

This adapter has decent speed when it's working, but nowhere near 1200Mbps. I get about 70Mbps average when it's fast, but it is usually around 30-50. The worst part about this adapter is that it disconnects VERY often. I left it there overnight, and it just disconnected, and I had to restart my computer for it to work. It just started working again, so I decided to write a review about it. I also had to put tape from the antenna to my computer to hold it in the only way it connects, for some reason. If I don't, it just turns off and disconnects.I know it isn't the actual USB port because everything else there works fine. One time, I tried to reinstall the drivers, and it said exactly: "Sorry ! We do not support this operation system !!" I was using Windows 10... I restarted my computer again and it installed fine. I bought this one after my Panda wireless one broke (physically). That one never had any problems. This one did work for a couple of weeks though (probably so I couldn't send it back...) I wouldn't reccomend this adapter, unless maybe if it works better for other versions.

How can you say your wifi adapter is 1200 Mbps when it is only usb 2.0? the fastest you could possibly get would be 400 mbps through usb 2.0 and that would be in a perfect world. Connected to my 5g network in my house this device does around 40mbps which is not much faster than the old 2.4 ghz wireless adapter I had before. Waste of my time and money on this, avoid this if you are trying to get a good 5g connection.

I use Ubuntu and have version 17.10. It did not work out of the box but in researching the comments. I found a couple of people that had suggestions. I found someone that had version 16.10 and had a simple solution. I tried it and it worked. Works very well but I am only 30 to 40 feet from the router. There 3 walls in between along with the furnace and water conditioner. These do not seem to affect the performance.Plan on upgrading to version 18.04 once it is finalized.Works better than the adapters that use the house wiring but I think we have bad outlets in the house.*** Update ***Upgraded to Ubuntu 18.04 and it no longer works. WIll keep trying as 18.04 is not finalized yet.

good range. nice and small form.very weak though. a little bump can bend/crack it easily. accidentally broke mine with very little effort so i had to order a new one.if you're very gentle with this it will take care of business for you.worked great on raspberry pi, win 7, win 10, ubuntu, mint, etc

I got this a little over 3 weeks ago, it had been working very good, but since 2 days ago it always cuts out on me, I don't know what the problem is; I tried to update the drivers but they were up to date. I would give this five stars if I didn't have this problem.

Works great! Now getting wireless AC 3 floors away (on 5Ghz) at about 25-60 Mbps where before we had trouble even connecting at all.

It works really good for me. I decided to give a review because of all the bad ones. About to buy a third one.
