I love this thing.
This is the best car stereo I've ever owned so far. I was a bit skeptical at first given the unknown brand name and suspiciously low price, but I just shoved that big bastard in my car and it does everything it said it would with no problem. The Bluetooth pairs with my Sony Xperia Play with no issues and functions even better then I expected. My only gripes are that it partially obstructs my climate controls in my 07 Hyundai Tiburon (that's my own fault for not measuring, but it's not a big deal) and its OS can only read up to 108 folders at a time (again, probably only a problem for me and not the casual user). It comes with two different size face plates it case you need it to sit outside your bezel a bit (like mine), and it even comes with an AV adapter. Installation was a breeze thanks to the wires being properly color coded and tagged, and the sound is clear and powerful. I'm very impressed and recommend this stereo to anyone.

Great radio for the money and installation was easy
Installation: I installed this on my 98 Silverado which had a 1.5 DIN original radio. Bought a Scosche GM1483B GM02B MDA1B Dashboard Installation Package which came with a wire harness adapter, antennae extension and 1 DIN to 1.5 DIN bracket, etc. Wired up the wire harness adapter color for color with the supplied radio harness in this kit using 16 wire gauge butt connectors. I was only left with two wires that didn't have matching colors (Orange & Blue) which were not items I had anyhow. Every wire was labeled neatly. I used the longer of the two supplied mounting metal brackets to push the unit a little longer out the opening to clear my AC switches. The only issue I had was the longer finishing bezel didn't fit without cutting back some of the dashboard installation kit, so I used the smaller one and it still looks good and everything is locked down. Installation took about an hour. DVD: To get the unit to play DVD's, you can either ground the brown wire to the parking brake switch as advertised or you can just ground it with the black wire to the automotive ground or even the metal bracket that goes around the unit will work too. This way you can play it when ever you want. Operation: The unit is plenty bright enough and can be adjusted. The radio works great and was clear and plenty loud enough. The BlueTooth (BT) works well. I paired it with my iPhone 5 with no issues and was calling over the radio quickly. The volume and connection was loud and clear. Haven't tried the USB or SD Card interface yet but I'm sure those will be fine too. Comes with a screen pouch for when you want to remove your screen and the remote works well too.

Two weeks and it died.
It took less than two weeks for this unit to die. It is receiving power - the blue light on/off switch is lit up. It will not turn on. At first, the unit worked fine. All functions worked fine and sounded good. Radio reception was excellent. Then one evening the radio reception turned around and was very poor even with local stations. Next morning the unit would not turn on at all. Again, it is receiving power - the on/off switch is lit - will not turn on. Roll the dice on this unit - I'm not the only one to report issues with it. My next unit will not be a no-name cheapo like this piece of junk.

Primitive but good enough for 4 stars.
This is an entry level touch screen head unit. Primitive but very cool nonetheless. I chose it for my 93 S-10 Blazer because it didn't block the A/C vents. It blocked the ashtray, but I don't smoke, so who cares? It was tricky to wrestle everything back together, remembering to slide the ashtray in before putting the radio in. The unit is surprisingly sturdy for having a screen hanging from it. DVD quality is pretty good. Radio comes in great. The SD card is a nice feature. Load one up with music, chuck it in there, and enjoy hours and hours of commercial free tunes. Also can't forget the USB... more music or movies. And the A/V IN that they say doesn't work, I don't know, I didn't try it. The call sound quality and the mic seemed to be alright. Here is what I didn't like about the unit: It does not remember if you are playing your music randomly. Each time, you have to hit random x2 for random all. Each time you hit random, it goes to the next song. Maybe I want random songs AFTER the song that I am listening to. The remote is laid out in a poor fashion. You have to move your fingers around a lot to navigate the remote. The equalizer only has Bass and Treble? Fail. Also didn't like the size/location of the touch screen controls for music. I would have liked bigger buttons. (For sausage fingers) Still overall a good unit. Especially for the $70-80 price range.

You cant beat this for the money!!!!
"Or the quality"...... I realize that there are many brands that have better known names out there and that the peer pressure of friends could steer a person away from a not so popular named brand like Power Acoustik, but I have to say I am very impressed with this unit, very impressed! I highly recommend this product and this company. I was a custom car audio installer over a decade ago, I worked for a well known shop, and i installed hundreds and hundreds of stereo systems. I have seen many different brands come and go, Heard e'm seen e'm... these guys really take the cake. Everything that is built into this unit really works, and the way they built it is the same durable rigid quality as any big names out there. If you have had trouble or end up having trouble with this unit I would have to say its not the stereo its the user or the devices they are trying to pair or use. I have an older, about 6 years old to be exact, LG Chocolate touch. I was able to pair it to the bluetooth, oh soooooo cool, (hands free phone calls) It plays DVD's and has a very nice LCD touchscreen display Its equipped with AV inputs in the back of the stereo so I was able to plug it in to the 18 inch flip down monitor in my truck. My son and I watched the matrix him in the back and me in the front. I was also impressed to have been able to take an old CD that I had burned 300 mp3's too about 10 years ago and they all played! I am so overwhelmed with this. Oh It also has a rear view camera option as well, All you need is an all weather camera to mount in the rear of your vehicle and an RCA style video cable to run to the video input in the rear of the stereo and you will be able to view anything that you cant see in your rear view mirror, like a kid, pet, or a toy, or hooking up to a trailer, Very cool. As for the sound, it has a built in mosfet powered amp! no need to add an amp for the door speakers, however you may find that you will need new door speakers to keep up with its power output, particularly if you have stock speakers still, If you hear popping from the speakers after installing this, its not the stereo its the speakers being over driven and the sound is the voice coil bottoming out on the magnet. The only need for the sound is an amp for the dedicated sub woofer output and you are set. "GO POWER ACOUSTIK!" enjoy!

Overall it's an ok product if you understand that you can only use the basic features.
The materials are okay, even though the touchscreen low key kinda sucks. Good for the price I guess, but just a little slow to respond to the touch. Sometimes you have to be very firm on your press or you'll find yourself tapping the screen various times. The sound quality is okay if you're playing off of Bluetooth or CD (I'm assuming. Haven't used a CD in years). BUT, the radio feature ALWAYS sucks! Its always static on any station! I thought I had a poor ground but have gone in there a couple of times to try to solder that bitch and is absolutely no help. I was questioning my skills til I bought another higher end Power Akoustic (10" tablet looking one) stereo and that one too has static on all stations. I noticed on both of the Power Acoustiks that I bought that the stereos only work like every other 5 feet on the road lol. I'll be in traffic in either car and it sounds all static-y in one spot and as soon as traffic slowly rolls forward, it'll be fine til I move another 5 feet. On and off, on and off. I end up sitting in silence better. Bluetooth again sounds okay. It's also a little choppy to navigate. The menu and all could have had a much better flowing interface. I had originally bought this one and thought maybe I did a poor job grounding the stereo but after having purchased my 2nd stereo from this brand, I'm realizing it's not the installation but the devices. Two Power Acoustiks is enough for me. Theres also many features listed on the ad but the devices can't do half of them -__- no tilt features or FF or REW and the remote is overly complicated for the little it can do. Ive had this one for about a year now, still doing it's basic functions fine. The 10" tablet looking one has been with me for 3 months and can't stop complaining about the radio static and fidgety a** menu that cuts your music off just to turn the blinding brightness down. (That's another thing, NO AUTO-DIMMING FEATURE!!!!). I'm in the market for a third stereo as I type this review and this time I will definitely be sticking with a known brand.

Great product, all around.
Setup was a breeze with the radio. My car did not have a parking brake grounding wire, but it could be connected to the negative power. The user interface looks amazing, runs incredibly smoothly. The startup screen (a flaming skull - their logo) was a surprise, wish it was customizable. Bluetooth connects very easy, much easier than in any new cars. Sound quality is great, the whole product is worth it.

Power Acoustik is a reliable brand to me.
This is my fourth Power Acoustik head unit, over 10 years and three cars, and it's great! I had the double din version in my other car and I sold the car (It worked great for three years) so I bought the single din version for my wife's car! *Important Installation Notes* -There are two screws on the bottom of the unit that are clearly marked and state that they "must be removed before being able to operate". -After wiring, before turning on the unit, be sure to plug in the speaker wire harness before plugging in the power wire harness (manufacturer guidance). -I recommend that you hit "Loud" on the remote. You only ever have to do this once ever (unless you disconnect the power. This will bump up the power output and it sounds much better. Pros -When a call comes in the radio automatically switches over to the phone and lets you choose to answer. When the call is over it goes right back to the last function. -The Bluetooth is awesome -dvd's play easily, sound is good -Good bass (once you hit the "loud" button on the remote) -and you can even choose what region the radio works in (U.S. or Europe etc.). The only con -The screen cannot be tilted.

Great product
Good product, fits my Jetta well. It covers some of my temperature dials but I’m not too picky.

Save your cash
Not even 2 years after the purchase and the deck wont play DVDs properly, freezes up, and wont play MP4 from the usb. This is the first time I try the USB and it wont work for MP4 playback. Sounds alright for music playback, cd playback works when it wants to, phone feature sucks, save your money. This is trash

Works good except won’t eject dvd
I used this radio in my semi as it flips down and works great. Everything works except I put in a dvd to watch, watched the movie but can’t get it to eject now.
