ground mastic (mastic)
This is a spice that is used in traditional greek breads from the island of Cyprus. I found it to be a little stronger in flavor than the one that came from the island of Cyprus (which I cannot get in the US), next time I make the "village bread" I will use a little less and hopefully that will do it. I usually use 1/4 t. per bread recipe a tiny less as I do not wish to loose the flavor. This spice is used in conjunction with ground "mehlepi" traditionally you do not use one without the other. To get an idea, in 3-1/2 cups of flour, I use 1/4 t. each of the two spices. I do not know how to use this spice any other way. These are the traditional greek spices that I remember as I was growing up. I feel so fortunate to be able to get them here in the US.

Finely ground, mild or no flavor
This stuff is AMAZING! I added a quarter tsp to my ice-cream custard (6 whole eggs, 3 cups heavy cream, 1cup sugar, vanilla bean paste crystallized ginger added halfway through ice-cream maker cycle), and it is the smoothest, creamiest I’ve cream Ive ever made. I saw a video about a Turkish ice-cream vendor whose “secret ingredient” was mastic. This little container contains very finely-ground mastic, no further prep needed.

Very faint taste and aroma
Taste is very very faint, compared to natural 100% mastic

Horrible
This was supposed to make gamy lamb taste better...Nope, made it worse. Hated the smell and flavor and threw it out after one use. If you like this smell and flavor, more power to you.

not sure
Ive not used it yet for cooking. Ive tasted and smelled just the powder and it's really not potent at all. Im not sure if I will use it. Maybe if I use it in cooking some flavor and scent will come out?
