I didn’t know what a proper soldering iron was until I purchased this ! Figured I was just lousy at soldering my drones with a cheap pen.. this is excellent. Immediate heat along with a sleep feature. Quick change tips. Great machine.

Excellent for fine electronics repairs.

Bought this primarily to get an iron with a fine enough tip to solder fine pitch surface mount parts. The only reason I gave it 4 out of 5 stars is because it seems that the tip must be regularly pushed into the handle or it loses contact and the iron shuts down. Not a show-stopper, but annoying nevertheless. This might only be an issue with the particular iron I bought, but 4 stars accurately reflects my satisfaction with the iron. I like that: - It heats quickly - Doesn't take up a lot of room - Remembers my temperature setting from run to run - Has a sleep feature to cool the tip if I don't use it for a while
