I mounted this to a camcorder that supports night vision with a bicycle go pro mount, lol. Works perfect. Onboard IR lights on camcorders are not very good and even camera specific external mounted IR lights are still not as good at illuminating the dark as this simple IR flashlight is, especially with the adjustable wide angle/focus beam. This IR light is only as good as your night vision source and how good your zoom is so keep that in mind. For what I had in mind for this, it meets and exceeds expectations. 5 stars easily.

Paired this up with the NightShot Night Vision Rifle Scope with IR850-NS Illuminator and Holy Cow! Houses 175-200 yards away (Adobe construction) were Whited Out! Great IR Light. Excellent Price. Just add batteries and BAM! You've got IR illumination! It will be mounted on a 9mm carbine platform with the NightShot Scope and I will submit another Review after extensive testing. So far I am extremely pleased with this unit. Does exactly what they say it will do and more. I live in the high desert out in the middle of no where and there is no ambient light other than stars and moon light. This thing lite it all up like daytime! I used it and made Shadows behind trees across a canyon 450 yards away! Look for updated review after Xmas

IR flashlight works great. Takes both AAA and 18650 batteries.

This IR flashlight has a zoom ability that gives a fantastic IR flood at close ranges but can also project an even more impressive, tight rectangle at a range of 150 yards+. Very clear illumination at distance. There are some artifacts when zooming out, but not distracting. This high quality is a great surprise at this low price point. It takes 3 AAA batteries. Highly recommended.

Cheap quality. It does turn on and works. Has the option for rechargeable battery or alkalines. It’s pretty bright but on full magnification you can tell the exact shape of the led diode on whatever you are pointing the IR light to.

It's bright,and battery is good,and yes it will start fires and long as paper is black. Close dryer lint goes up like gasoline

This illuminator greatly increases the range, improves the image definition, and extends battery life of my inexpensive set of IR binoculars. The binoculars have their own onboard illuminator, which works fine, but it's essentially a flood light. This illuminator can be focused from floodlight to spotlight so it can increase definition and greatly increase the useful range of the binoculars. By running the illuminator that's on the binoculars at it's lowest setting and using this IR illuminator, I can greatly extend the run time of the binoculars.

I was a little concerned given the price but this is a great flashlight if you use 18650 batteries. Also worked with 2 CR123 batteries from my surefire. The glow from the diode is definitely noticeable up close but I put a small dot of tape over the center of the lens and that did the trick. Super bright, focuses well at range, and seems well built. I'm using it for passive aiming with a gen 3 PVS-14 and it projects well even at 150-200 yards. Adding different brightness levels and a strobe function would be nice as that's pretty standard on modern flashlights and it only has on/off functionality. Overall would recommend for the price.

Used this to supplement an fpv camera that I had removed the ir filter from. Through the modified camera the light is about as bright as a visible-spectrum flashlight, maybe a bit brighter. Seems to work fine for my purposes.

Tested with: Raspberry Pi Camera v3 NOIR I tested this UltraFire IR Torch with a Raspberry Pi Camera v3 NOIR (without an IR filter), and I have to say – for the price, it works surprisingly well. The infrared illumination is strong and consistent, and the adjustable focus is smooth and practical. It lives up to everything stated in the product description. A big plus is that it fits a longer 18650 battery (71mm) with a built-in charging port, which adds extra convenience. I'm deducting one star due to a couple of minor issues. The LED is visibly off-center – it doesn’t affect performance, but it's noticeable and detracts from the overall appearance. Additionally, there were some small particles or debris around the LED right out of the box. Not food crumbs or anything, just tiny specs of material, but it feels like a small lapse in quality control. Overall, a solid IR torch with excellent value for money – just a few small cosmetic flaws.
