Phenomenal mount
Great mount. Easy to put together, sturdy, flexible (easy to level). Also, has a great kickstand feature that allows you to place your cords after mounting. A great feature. Very close to wall, looks like a picture hanging. Recessed plug would be a plus, I didn't have one, just barely made it. A+++ Check your stud placement. Some have complained that they needed to cut holes in the middle as there are no holes there. This is true, but I didn't have this issue. There is good flexibility here. If you have to screw directly in the middle, the physics of the mount won't be ideal. Would definately buy again.

Nice and flat to the wall.
Worked perfectly for our new 85” flat screen. Very flat to the wall.

From Fiver Stars to Do Not Buy - with one small change
I'm a huge fan of Sanus. They have well designed, easy to install, good performing wall mounts. This is the sixth Sanus wall mount I've purchased in the past ten years, not counting mounts purchased for work or recommended to friends. I bought this exact same model about six months ago for my new living room TV and it lived up to expectations, easily a five star product. I just purchased another of the same model for a new television in the office and Sanus made one simple change that ruined the experience. Previously they've included hex-head lag bolts to mount the frame to the wall. The hex head bolts are easy to screw into the wall studs using a socket wrench or a crescent wrench. The new mount that I bought replaced those bolts with socket head bolts and nicely included the hex bit needed. Unfortunately the hex socket is too small for the amount of torque needed to drive into wall studs and the hex bit is made out of cheap, soft metal. I got three of the four bolts into the wall but the last bolt stripped out, ruining both the bolt and the driver bit, leaving the bolt only half-driven into the wall. Because I couldn't get purchase on the bolt, I had to tear it out of the wall with a small sledge and a large pry bar, which made quite a mess of the wall. Fortunately I had spare lag bolts on hand but for the average homeowner, this would have halted the project. Sanus may have saved a few pennies by switching to the new wall mount screws but by using poorly designed, cheaply made parts they ruined what is otherwise a well-designed, high quality product. This new version of the wall mount is a "Do not buy" - or if you do buy it, go to the local hardware store and get some proper lag bolts to mount it to the wall...

Perfect, if you plan ahead
This mount is a minimalists dream. Simple design, easy to install, relatively inexpensive. My Samsung 55" LED TV sticks out exactly 1.75 inches...less than some picture frames. I did make mistakes, perhaps others could benefit from my experience. First, be certain what height you want your TV to be. It's tempting to hang it too high, at eye level for a standing person or higher. This is wrong. TV's, like computer monitors, should be at or below eye level from the most frequent viewing position. Otherwise, you'll get neck strain from looking up. Sit in your favorite chair and look straight ahead - that's where the TV should be. Or look at a friend sitting in another seat - the talking head on TV should be level with your friends head. I wound up de-installing and re-mounting a foot lower, but while the first installation took an hour, the second one took 10 minutes. Second, this mount is probably best if you're cutting an access hole in the wall behind the TV. I had originally planned either a small cabinet below the TV, or a high mounted shelf for the set top box and blu-ray. However, I like the clean look so much that I've ordered a remote control extender, so I can run the cables through the wall behind the TV, and put all the accessories in the other room. Even if I kept them in the same room, I think I'd still run all cables through the wall.

Low profile mount - but too low profile?
I purchased this mount because I wanted to mount my Samsung 63" Samsung PN63C8000 63-Inch 1080p 3D Plasma HDTV, Black as close to the wall as possible, and this seemed to be the lowest mount available with the exception of the Samsung picture frame style mount, but that mount was over $200 and I had qualms about the stability of that mount (just mounts into the drywall - no thanks). I had read some of the negative reviews about this ultra low profile mount where users had a problem with having room for wires. On my Samsung, the inputs are oriented towards the side of the TV, so I figured I'd have plenty of room for wires. Installation wasn't too difficult, but the included instructions were pretty bad. I didn't find out until after installing that they have a video instruction on the Sanus website - I highly recommend viewing before installation. One thing to make sure you do before mounting the TV, is make sure you adjust the strings behind the TV so they hang down low enough (almost as low as the bottom of the TV) that you can reach them. You will need to pull these strings to make adjustments, plug in your inputs, or remove the mount later - so neglecting to adjust the strings prior to mounting, as I did on my first pass, can leave a major headache (I was able to fish them from behind the TV, and I removed the TV from the mount and adjusted the wires correctly and remounted ... again, had I watched the video I wouldn't have made this mistake in the first place). So why 3 stars? Well I have a couple of problems with this mount. The bracket that attaches to the TV grips the top of the wall mount, then is supposed to "click" into place at the bottom in order to form a secure mount. Problem is, if there is anything back there at all blocking the TV, it won't click into place. This is the problem some of the negative reviewers who have TVs with inputs facing backwards have - it didn't leave any room for the HDMI or other input cables. In my case, my cables are perpendicular to the TV and don't seem to be the problem. What's even worse than the lack of clicking, is my TV isn't quite flat against the wall - the front of the TV is a little under 2" from the wall on the left side, and a little over 2" from the wall on the right side, for a difference of over half an inch. I think my culprit might be, the wall I have it mounted on is in a spot where an exterior concrete block wall meets an interior wall, with a sheet of drywall over the interior and the drywall has a very very slight (barely noticeable, and in fact not noticeable at all had I never tried to mount this to it) bulge to it. I think that very slight roundness is what is causing my problems with this mount. Yes, I realize this is mostly my own problem as I don't have a perfectly smooth mounting surface - but my point is, this "ultra slim" mount by leaving only .55" inches behind the TV leaves you almost no room for error. If there is any obstruction, including wires or anything else, you could have problems. Other than that, the quality of this product is pretty good. The one week spot I would point out, and I haven't tested it for failure, but the mechanism where you pull the strings to release the lock seems pretty flimsy. If this mechanism were to fail, you would potentially find it extremely difficult to remove the TV from the wall. And again, with the extremely low profile of the mount at only .55", you'd have very few options to get back there and try to get the thing loose. Overall, this isn't a terrible product, but I have to recommend it with reservations. If, like most TVs, the inputs on your TV face backwards requiring some room for wires, I would look for a mount that isn't quite so close to the wall. Similarly, if your wall is anything but perfectly flat and smooth (get up with your eye next to your wall and look, the imperfection I'm talking about is not noticeable otherwise), this mount could give you problems. On top of that, the flimsy string mechanism would worry me a little bit as well. Finally, if your setup can accommodate an ultra low profile mount and you do decide to buy this product, make sure to watch the installation video on the Sanus website, and if installing into concrete, I'd go out and buy better anchors than what comes with this mount. 3 Stars. Under perfect conditions it probably works fine and it does get the TV nice and close to the wall, but frankly I wish I'd just bought a less low profile mount to start with - it would end up looking just as good with much less hassle. I will probably replace this mount with one that has a little more forgiveness, likely one of the cheaper Amazon Basics models that get good reviews.

I used this for a Sony 85" X95J mount. Mount is really simple and sturdy but a couple things to consider on a TV this size. The "clickstand" is useless on a tv this big because when trying to tilt it the top of the tv hits the wall and prevents it's use. So, since this mount puts the tv super close the wall (which looks great) you need a 3rd person to be able the plug in your cables and make any adjustments as you and then other person hold it in the air because once it's on the wall you can not fit you hand behind the tv and you also can't reach the fine tuning screws for fine levelling. So make sure you got you mount perfectly level.

THIS PRODUCT IS GREAT AND AFTER MOUNTED STILL CAN BE ADJUSTED I RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT

The mount is great. Holds my ~100 pound Sony Mini LED TV absolutely solid and the adjustment capability for level after installation is very handy (though make your life easier and just set up a laser line first). That being said, the mounting hardware for the wall bracket is utter garbage. For some reason, Sanus decided to go with internal hex bolts (like allen bolts) instead of the much more reliable external hex. The included bit doesn't fit in a standard impact driver and is made of a frustratingly soft metal which stripped out the head of the bolt on the very first one I installed. I ended up having to extract it using vise grips because nothing else would stay put. I found an fantastic replacement at Home Depot: GRK 5/16 x 2-3/4-inch Star Drive Round Washer Head Black RSS Rugged Structural Screws (SKU 1001797975). You can follow the rest of the instructions and just use these bolts for an extra $5. The included allen key for level adjustments is also really soft metal and the ball head immediately rounded itself off completely and became useless once the TV was on the wall. Do yourself a favour and set the bolts to one of their extreme ends BEFORE the TV is on the wall, so you don't have to do a major amount of tweaking. At some point, these ended up with different configurations, so when I first got the TV on the wall, it was nearly 3" out of level. I was able to get it perfectly level again, but it was a realy pain with the included allen key. With my particular TV and mounting configuration, I was able to reach it with (I think) a regular 3mm key. You may want to get a longer one depending on your setup. I really don't know why Sanus decided to ship such useless hardware with a $200 mount, but at least you (hopefully) only need to use it once.
