What a collection! - Interweave knitting patterns are invariably wearable, clearly written, and easy to follow. This book contains 100 of these fine patterns. Each one has a clear photo of the front and back of the garment, often with additional shots of details of the garment. So often knitting patterns are photographed so artily that it's hard to tell what the finished garment will look like. That is not an issue here. Each pattern includes all the usual information (gauge, stitches, yarn requirements by yarn weight ather than brand, etc.) plus notes about construction. There are traditional knitting instructions written in standard knitting terms, plus schematics with measurements and charts for stitches. Fitted garments are offered in a wide range of sizes, typically 32 to 50 inches, but sometimes smaller or larger sizes than these are included. There is a page of abbreviations at the back, but this book is for experienced knitters. There are no basic knitting instructions. What else is not included? Well, there is only one sweater for a man and no patterns for children. Some accessories (hats, socks, cowls, scarves) are for men or are suited to unisex style. There are some truly unusual patterns. For example, there is a pattern for knitting two pairs of socks together, one from the top down and the other from the toe up. Then you divide the socks at the toes and graft the toes. I can't imagine why you'd want to do this, but it's intriguing. All the patterns are clothing, though. There are no home decor patterns. Other than that, it's hard to think of anything that is not represented in this collection. Yarns from laceweight to Aran weight are included. There are sections for hats and socks, scarves and shawls and such, cardigans, pullovers, and tanks and tees. Raglan, drop sleeve, yoked, and set-in sleeve designs are included. Shaped, straight-sided, and A-line sweaters are represented. You'll find color work, cables, textured stitches, lace, and lovely combinations of these techniques. It's hard to imagine that anyone could look through this collection without finding something perfect to knit. I own a lot of Interweave books, and I already have a handful of these patterns. I'll still have a lot of trouble choosing which pattern to begin with. If you own a good stitch dictionary, a good technical book for fitting, and basic instructions if you need them, then this book could complete your collection of essential knitting books. Review: Interweave does it right ♥️ - Buy it . Yes, even though you own ( let’s just say a lot :) of knitting books .This one is worth breaking the “Im not buying another “ promise to yourself . Beautifully done visually and broken into sections by garment type .I think I counted 15 pairs of socks . Interweave is reliably excellent and these patterns are no exception. I love ravelry, but certain books are still worth owning . It’s hefty , patterns are stylish but not going out of style before you’re done knitting .

Wonderful compilation
Great collection of patterns! Very heavy book. Not adequately packaged for shipment. Lots to like inside the covers—classic patterns!

Beautiful Patterns
This Interweave book is brimming over with beautiful knitting patterns of every kind. Whether you want to knit a sweater, cardigan, shawl, , cowls, socks, shrug, or hoodie, you'll find a pattern in this book. The photographs are clear and the instructions precise. There are notes about the pattern at the beginning of each one. I have two concerns. One is that I hate charts and all of these patterns are charted. The other concern is that some of the patterns are restrictive in size and only go to 47 or 48". If you are a big woman or plan to knit for someone who is on the larger size, some of these patterns won't work. This book is definitely for the intermediate or experienced knitter. If you are beginner, you might want to get this book for ideas and the lovely photographs. The patterns, however, require a bit of experience.

Mostly charts, not written out patterns
So many knitting books have patterns you'd never try; you buy a book for a couple patterns you otherwise would never see. This has so many good patterns I can't wait to try! I thought it was a little strange that out of 100 patterns, there was only one man's sweater. You'd think there'd be either a few or none at all, but over all they look amazing! Keep in mind there are so many patterns, they aren't all written out word for word. When I started knitting, my patterns wrote out what to do every row ("K5, P2, repeat," things like that). This is all chart!

It's has so many options!!!
I love the book, it's full with different patterns, specially for cardigans and sweaters! Have in consideration that there's no pattern for knitting kids clothes... and just a few for men. Also, I find that most of the patterns are hard or for people more advance at knitting, so if you're new at knitting (like me) it's gonna be difficult at first...

I've tagged about 90%
I've often bought knitting pattern books that I end up hating. Not so here. As implied, these are the best of the best. I don't knit accessories much. But I've already put post-its on many, many of the sweaters I plan to knit. Few are purely simple. All seem well designed and executed. If you are subscriber, you already have these patterns. If you use Ravelry, you'll recognize them as some of the most frequently appearing patterns on line. The book is cheaper than a subscription, and saves wading through the least usable of Interweave's patterns.

I want to make all of them!
This is the epitome of knitting with Interweave. All of the best patterns published through Interweave Press are in this one book from the Waxwing Shawl for weddings to the Central Park Hoodie. Test out amazing designers from this one collection like Bristol Ivy, Carina Spencer, Romi Hill, Norah Gaughan, etc. This is a really hefty book, but thankfully, Amazon has free shipping. :) This is a definite thumbs up for knitters who love making garments (Shawls, socks, sweaters, pullovers, cardigans, hats).

A fantastic source book of patterns. Many patterns are actually something you would wear, and designs vary in the skill needed to produce. Patterns are varied, and there is little repetition/ A little pricy, but well worth the money.

Eine top Sammlung, Hardcover, von Mützen über Socken, Schals zu Oullovern und Jacken, einzelne Herrenmodelle. Etwas Fair Isle, viel Lace und spannende Zopfgeschichten. Schon beim Durchblättern möchte man locker 3/4 der Modelle stricken. Vielleicht doch früher in Pension gehen....;-)

All the patterns are originals with beautiful pictures and I can't choose which one I'll do first! I you have to buy just one knitting book, this one will do the job.

I have knitted 3 sweaters from this book so far! Might even knit all 100 hundred items.
