These non-latex condoms definitely need some practice, or patience, bit of both really. When opened, the condom is very rigid and it doesn't look like it's gonna come on at all. It needs to be held in hand for a few seconds (apparently 15, but mine needed more time) and rolling it down should become easier. It needs a some more rubbing to work out the bubbles and I'm sorry, but it does look comical. My little buddy looked like it was accidentally left in a shrinkwrap machine :D so the difficulty of putting it on and the comical look can definitely kill the mood, especially with new couples who have other things on their mind too. Once it's on and the light are off and everybody stopped laughing, the feeling is very nice. It does feel like wearing nothing as the material is very thin and takes the heat from the participants' body. Taking it off was another difficulty, so well...maybe if I was allergic to latex, I'd buy more. But as I'm not, I'm not very keen.

This is a pack of 8 non latex condoms from Skins. These are well packaged and look premium. The "pros" are that it is thin, has a good feel in use and don't have the usual odour you get from latex condoms. The main drawback is that they are incredibly difficult to put on. They don't roll easily as it feels that the material is stuck to itself, so then you end up taking it off and rolling it between two fingers, and the worry is that you may damage it. Eventually once its on its fine, but it is not as simple a process as it should be. This is off set by the nice performance of it, but it is certainly something to be aware of. This wasn't a one off issue, but an issue with each one in the pack. Overall I do like these, but the "installation process" is a bit frustrating.

Skins is a well recognised brand in the latex free space and so it was very disappointing to have to write a negative review. As a user of latex free condoms, I have been aware of the brand but I haven’t used their products previously. Although latex free condoms are targeted towards those who have a latex allergy, they can be used by anyone and some people have a preference for them even without having an allergy. Generally, a latex free condom will be very similar in look and feel to a standard one. The issues that I have with this product are not due to it being latex free, as I have used latex free previously and also they are a recognised brand in the space so I have confidence they would have a good latex free offering. The issues can be summarised as being impractical, which given the nature of the use is not a small criticism. First problem is with the wrapper. On paper, they are designed to be easy open and have a slight indent that you are meant to use to open. In practice though, this doesn’t work very well at all. Unlike other peer products where the wrapper is designed to be easy to tear wherever you try and open it, the wrapper is really thick and essentially impossible to open unless you use this indent. Trouble is, in the dark and in the moment, this is high on impossible and you will have to stop what you are doing in order to hunt for an indent. Not exactly ideal. This is very much a pattern, as the second issue is that once opened, it is unreasonably difficult to unroll and apply. It is so tightly wound up that this is a task that is impossible to do quickly. You have to essentially bring everything to a halt so you can sit and painstakingly start to unravel it with both hands. Because it is so tight as well you have to unravel a huge portion of it before you are able to put it on. A real mood killer. This of course impacts the feel, they feel unreasonably tight and have the sensation more of a vacuum seal bag than a second skin. Much more plastic in feel than I am used to. Normally as I say latex free feel essentially the same as a standard condom, however these felt very different. All in all I was very disappointed, for so recognised a brand in this space I was keen to see their offering. However the product is so impractical it significantly impacts the fundamental use of it. Not one I will be using again in the future.

I have tried a range of latex and non-latex condoms over the years, mainly because I am sensitive to the strong smell and occasional irritation that standard latex can cause. I used this 4 pack of Skins non-latex condoms over multiple occasions to get a fair sense of comfort, fit and reliability rather than judging from a single use. The first noticeable difference is the lack of a typical latex smell. These are genuinely odourless, which makes the experience feel more natural and less clinical. The material is very thin, and once on, it does feel closer to skin than many standard latex options. Sensitivity is good for a non-latex condom and noticeably better than thicker budget brands. Fit is described as regular, and I would say that is accurate. It sits securely without feeling overly tight or loose. The thermo fit aspect seems to refer to how the material softens slightly with body heat, which does make it conform more comfortably after a short time. It does not feel stiff or plasticky once in use, which is sometimes an issue with alternative materials. In terms of strength, I had no breakages or slipping during use. That is ultimately the most important factor. They feel delicate because of how thin they are, but in practice, they held up as expected when used properly. On the downside, the ultra-thin design means you need to be a bit more careful when opening and putting it on to avoid accidental tearing. It is not fragile, but it does not have the same forgiving stretch as thicker latex condoms. Also, as with many non-latex options, they tend to be more expensive per unit compared to standard latex alternatives. Overall, these are a strong option if you are looking for a latex-free condom that prioritises sensitivity and comfort. They feel natural, have no noticeable smell, and perform reliably in my experience. If you are happy with latex and mainly focused on price, you may not see enough difference to justify switching. If you have sensitivity issues or want something that feels less intrusive, this is a worthwhile alternative.

Appreciating that many people have latex allergies and therefore can't use normal condoms, I can see the appeal of these Skins non-latex condoms. But as someone who could use either, these are a difficult sell. The packaging is stylish and discrete, I'm a fan of Skins products and these are certainly well made and look good. However the condoms themselves aren't pleasurable to wear. For starters they are a struggle to put on - the main reason for that is a lack of lubricant, so unrolling is a lot harder than normal. Add to that, if you unroll the condom a bit too far, the material switches from smooth to a very strange 'crinkly' feel and this gets worse the longer you keep it on. While these aren't for me, I can see these being very useful and quite reasonably priced for people who need non-latex condoms. They are well made, but can be quite challenging to wear successfully. You should also bring your own lubricant because these won't do it by themselves.
