This FR shirt arrived well packaged and in excellent condition. As soon as I unpacked it, I went through all of the tags and information, and everything appeared correct to me. The labeling includes NFPA 2112 2023, ASTM F1506, NFPA 70E, and a CAT 2 arc rating. There is also a UL certification tag with the expected format. I am not an authority on certifying FR garments, but based on what I normally look for and what I see on other FR clothing I own, I think this is a legit FR shirt. The fabric feels like high quality, thick cotton. It has the dense, slightly heavier feel that is typical of a 6 oz FR knit, and it does not have any stretch or synthetic-like behavior. There is no chemical smell, no shine, and nothing that feels like spandex or polyester blended in. The stitching uses a matte thread, and the seams are clean and well finished. I also checked the high visibility sections under UV light. The high vis thread reacted as expected under UV, and the visibility effect was acceptable. I actually like that the high vis accents are low key instead of overly bright or fluorescent. It feels balanced for a shirt that is meant to be both protective and wearable throughout the day. To check the flame resistant behavior safely, I used a loose thread I trimmed from a seam. The thread behaved exactly like FR cotton should. It ignited briefly, burned for a moment, and then self extinguished on its own. There was no melting or dripping, and the leftover material crushed into fine black ash. I did not put an open flame on the shirt itself because that would permanently damage it, but the loose thread test gave the expected results. Fit is slightly on the larger side. I would call it about a half size big, but still well within normal variations. For a work shirt that may be layered or worn in active environments, this is actually a positive. Overall, based on the labeling, the fabric behavior, the stitching, and the tests I performed, I think this is a legit FR cotton shirt. The material feels durable, the high vis accents respond correctly under UV, and the flame resistant behavior matches what I expect from treated FR cotton. For the price, it seems like a solid value for CAT 2 work wear, welding, or general electrical safety tasks.
