To start, I think it's perfect! It doesn't have the power and multiple uses that you can get with a Vitamix or a larger, more robust blender, but this is a small little blender perfect for smoothies and sauces, and best yet, one that you can take with you to an AirBnB or a hotel, and so, it has my vote. I made a smoothie each day that I was away and cleanup was easy too. Gentle price point, small footprint for the countertop, and what can be bad!

Works great, mixes my protein powder to a smooth delight. The lid is a little hard to get off but I knew that when I bought it. Very happy, no more lumps in my morning shake. Oh yea it's very sturdy and the color red is great, very nice looking.

I've always liked this blender through its various iterations and have owned multiple units over the last 15+ years. It's just the right size for smoothies, easy to clean, and doesn't take up much space on the counter. It has enough power, but don't add too much ice or frozen fruit. I like that you don't have to remove the blade and mess with a gasket and flip it over like other types of small blenders. However because of the one piece design, they eventually develop a leak around the bottom but not for, in my experience, plenty of years of daily usage. So, for the price point, it's a great smoothie maker and affordable to replace. Usually, I'm ready for a clean one by then anyway ... I knocked this down a star because they changed the base. Before, the cord would wrap effortlessly around the bottom. Now you have to stuff it into a small hole and up into the base. Furthermore, the instructions don't explain that and it appears almost like you would wrap around the notch in the bottom but that's not the case. Will see if it gets easier to stuff the cord inside over time as it limbers up. Otherwise, sticking with an old favorite.

I ordered the white blender with 2 blending cups. I’ve used it a few times now and I love it, I hope it holds up. I’m done with portable blenders that need to be charged. I wanted an electric blender I could plug into the wall. This blender works quickly and the cups are a very sturdy, thick plastic. They are incredibly easy to clean because the blades are permanently attached to the inside of the cup. There are no parts to unscrew and wash separately! I usually rinse with very hot water immediately after use and it’s clean. I use this blender to blend protein powder, collagen powder and green veggie powder with milk or water. I don’t want it to be thick like a smoothie as i have swallowing problems. I prefer blending, adding ice and shaking to make cold. I don’t think this blender is strong enough to crush ice for a traditional smoothie. The metal blades are very short. But for protein powders and sliced, soft fresh fruits this thing is perfect…quick, efficient and easy to clean.

98% of the videos I watched of ppl complaining abt this product were bc they weren’t using it correctly!! I honestly wish I could msg them & tell them that! First thing I saw, they were saying the cup wouldn’t stay in the base to blend. YOU HAVE TO TURN IT & LOCK IT INTO PLACE! There’s a pic of a lock & unlock on the bottom of the cup & u set it in on the unlock & turn it to lock. The 2nd one was saying the lid would just sit on top so liquid would leak out. No, the lid actually fits on very well, maybe a lil too well, & it’s hard to get on. U rly have to work at getting it on but once it’s on, it’s on, & it won’t leak! Then prob the most important one, YOU MUST ADD LIQUID TO BLEND IN THIS MACHINE!!! U can’t just add fruit or vegetables & expect it to blend without adding any liquid. That’s not how this one works. If that’s what ur looking for u need a veg chopper & not this. This is geared towards a smoothie maker! There is a minimum liquid marker at the bottom & u have to add at LEAST this amt of liquid to start with & ur prob going to need more! Also, blend in stages. Don’t cram the whole thing full to the top & again expect it to blend. Here I added almond milk, frozen bananas & blended it & then added the rest of my frozen fruit & MORE LIQUID, blended & ended up stirring some & added more liquid. U may have to stir it up a lil or if ur lid is on tight & correctly while it’s blending, u can tilt it to side to side, front to back, & get ur ingredients moved around. This is also made to pulse the products & run for short periods of time. One review said she ONLY ran hers for 10-15 min & didn’t know why it started smelling funny!! Umm hello! U can’t run this lil thing that long! It’s not made to go for 15min at a time. This is an amazing lil smoothie maker if u use it correctly. This is actually my 2nd one bc I lost my 1st one & had to repurchase another one. Again, don’t use it for anything ur not adding liquids to bc it won’t work. If ur just wanting something to chop fruit & vegetables then get one of those lil choppers for that. This won’t work. If ur looking for something to make smoothies, iced coffe, soups, or anything like that then I highly recommend this!!

UPDATE: Enough is enough. I thought i could work through the quirks with this blender. Forget it. It's turned out to be a total disaster. When blending anything that foams, such as protein powders, Smoothies etc, you can't even get a full 12 ounces before the whole thing explodes. The lids awful. It leaks severely and get your drink all over the counter top and the base unit to the blender and, YOU. I have to put a towel over the lid to keep fluid from ending up everywhere. The other issue with the lid, if you have weak hands, elderly or arthritis, or an injury to your hand, forget it, you will never get the lid off with out dumping half the drink on the floor. Trying to make sure the lid is secured results in the same issue. This is soooo poorly designed, i should have known better considering the price point. In my original evaluation, I mentioned the short power cord, yeh, its a joke. Way too short, thought i could deal with it, nope. This is not worth it. I have already pulled out my full size blender. ORIGINAL EVALUATION; Purchased for my Protein Shakes and Smoothies. Fair Value. It's a little quirky. THE GOOD: Works as advertised. Delivered quickly, no damage, nicely packaged. As described. Fair Value. It blends just fine and does a decent job when adding "small" ice cubes and frozen veggies or fruits. Easy to store and fits in my upper cabinets when the canister and base are seperated. Lightweight and Easy to use and handle. THE BAD: This is kind of a quirky personal blender. First, when you mount the container on the blender, it's locks in place, however, its counter intuitive. It locks by twisting to the left instead of the right. Every kitchen appliance i have, including full size blenders you twist to the right to lock. It says 16oz, however, you are not going to get a full 16oz of liqued. You will get about 10 to 12oz. Think the capacity should have been a full 16oz or 20 to 24oz. Because of relatively new laws in Europe and the United States, the power cord is way too short!!!!!, this drives me crazy!!!...I believe this one is a newer model upgraded with a better lid, so, it doesn't leak anymore, however, you really need to make sure the lid is fully and completely sealed before you blend or you are going to have a big mess. Also, it has a latch/slide on the lid, make sure its also in the closed position or, again a huge mess. THE UGLY: The only thing I would call ugly, the lid !!!, while it now complelty seals and doesn't leak, you have to use a lot of force to "Seat" the lid, then, when you remove the lid, have fun, it seals so hard, you really have to pull with the edge of your fingers to remove it. Painful!!!! I own many Hamilton Beach kitchen products and im a little surprised this is as quirky as it is. I give it 4 stars because it works as advertised and considering the price point, you can't beat it.

The quality is definitely equal to the price... Cheap. From the beginning I have struggled getting it to blend everything. I have to keep pushing everything down with a spoon. After a short amount of time using it it started to smell hot after about 20 seconds of blending. Today I was blending a smoothie and stuff started spewing out. When I detached the cup the blade and attachment under the blade had completely broke and smoothie was leaking out. I guess I'm happy I even got a year and a half out of it... 🤷🏼‍♀️ Personally I would recommend spending a little more and getting better quality.

Bought it for my mom and she uses this everyday to make a small fruit blend (1 cup size) for my dad. Light-weighted and easy to clean. It has been months and it still works well. No problem noticed.
