Product Description The astonishing, highly anticipated next chapter in the series, THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN, illuminates the secrets and mysteries of this spellbinding romantic epic that has entranced millions. desertcart.com The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1 delivers strongly for the rabid fan base who have catapulted the young adult novel series and subsequent movie adaptations to the worldwide phenomenon that it's become, but it alienates a broader audience with a lack of any real action. Similar to the tone of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, the first film of the two-part Twilight conclusion is heavy on romance, love, and turmoil but light on fight scenes and gruesome battles. The movie doesn't waste any time getting to the goods and opens with Bella and Edward's much-hyped wedding scene. It works--the vows are efficient and first-time franchise director Bill Condon (Dreamgirls) moves the party along quickly and amusingly with a well-edited toast scene and some surprisingly moving moments between Bella and her father, cast standout Billy Burke. The honeymoon plays as a slightly awkward soft-focus made-for-TV movie, with a lot of long moments spent staring in the mirror and some love scenes that feel at once overly intimate and completely passionless. It's a relief when Bella retches on a bite of chicken she's cooked herself and quickly concludes she's pregnant with a potentially demonic baby. From bliss to horror, the Cullens return to Forks, where Bella spends the second half of the movie wasting away and Edward and Jacob are aligned in their anger and frustration over her decision. Throw in some over-the-top scenes with Jacob and his pack--including a strange showdown where the wolves communicate in their canine form by having a passionate nonverbal fight in their minds (a plot point that works much better in print, it's portrayed in the film via aggressive voice-over)--and the film overshoots intensity and goes straight to silly. The birth scene is horrific, but not as gruesome as in the book, and by the end, Bella has of course survived, though is much altered. The final scene features a delightfully campy Michael Sheen as Volturi leader Aro and makes it clear that the action and fun in Breaking Dawn, Part 1 is ready to start. Fans will just have to wait until Part 2 to get it. --Kira Canny Review: Great movie - Also part 2 & i love the whole series. Breaking Dawn Part 1 is The Best Movie of The Twilight Book Saga!
Bill Condon did an Excellent Job with Breaking Dawn Part 1 by staying close to the book. The wedding scene was beautifully done. I Love Bella's wedding dress very much. The Reception Ceremony was extremely funny with Charlie & Emmett. I truly didn't care about Jessica and her jealousy act. Plus Rene's singing did not catch my attention. I Loved the way Jacob interacted with Bella at her reception until he got angry and almost ruined Bella & Edward's moment due his childish temper even though he was truly looking after Bella's well being. However she is married now and you can't interfere with her decisions. The Honeymoon was Perfect! Now I have to clarify due to critics not having the facts straight. Edward & Bella consumed their marriage twice not once like some people speculated. Their first night Edward felt terrible for the after bruises Bella had from being intimate and made sure to keep Bella busy by the time is was bed time by doing regular site seeing activities. Until Bella finally woke up from a dream of desperation to mate with her husband once again. This is when Edward & Bella conceived. The fact is Edward & Bella slept together twice. Plus also please note Edward is 109 years old not 104. Please read the books before the facts are written. Also, Bella's pregnancy and make-up effects were Spectacular. I was feeling so bad for Bella the way she looked and what the baby was doing to her. The birth scene was extremely scary to watch as a Mother myself knowing this would truly be a lifetime experience to forget having a c-section this way. Plus the imprinting was perfectly explained. However people always love to judge. Please note Jacob is a Protector, Brother and Guardian for the moment until Renesmee turns 16. Then she makes the decision if they stay together more than friends. This is Tribal legend. Plus please note when the wolf pack were speaking in Jacob's mind is through their thoughts. Yes, I know this is a fictional story but please note wolves in real life do communicate mentally they don't speak or turn into humans. So please critics let's just enjoy the movie. This was Perfectly done just like our book was written. I can't wait now to see Breaking Dawn Part 2 on November 16, 2012. There were parts that were edited from the books, and scenes that were shorten to give an accurate explanation. However, I know Summit will make sure these deleted or extended scenes are added in the movie. Plus the mature DVD I know they would release for the adult audience to watch as a Director's Cut.

If you know the books, watch. If not, it's not worth it.
For those of you who have read the books, it's kind of required to watch the movies. Even though we all know the movie is never as good as the book, we still have hope. Now, if you're in it just to see the cool graphics, clothes, compare your vision to real-life, then fine, this should be a lovely movie for you. You know what's going on and you are prepared to judge the movie. The real test of a book-gone-bigsceen film is if people would still watch it even if the book hadn't been famous beforehand. (Alice In Wonderland, anyone? Eragon?). Sadly, I do not believe this series of films would be a success in that case. If you completely ignore the books, the movie is decent. The graphics are good, but they aren't seamless. You can tell what is fake, and you can see it not matching perfectly with what is real. I'm always annoyed when that happens. It's like those photos you see of people pretending to hold the Statue of Liberty or something in their hand. Yeah it looks cool at first but when you look close it's easy to see you're just holding your hand close to the camera, far away from the object you're pretending to hold. Anyway, if you do factor the books into the equation, the movies really fail. It's not just having a different internal expectation than what is on the screen; it's that basic facts were completely overlooked. What's rule number one of Cullen world? Everyone is perfect. But does that hold true in the movies? Nope! I see sunspots/moles, acne, and general non-attractiveness. Makeup and airbrushing could have solved that, but no one did it. Rule number two? They aren't human. So why do they tremble? Why do their hands shake ever so slightly when they pick things up, just like humans do? Some brushups could have covered that. The whole feel is supposed to be inhuman, but that just doesn't come across at all. Even when they park their cars it isn't perfect. They're just as crooked as the other 'humans'. Again, easy to fix, yet it wasn't done. Ruins the whole effect for me. I expect attentention to detail, and it just isn't there. Next, we move onto errors. Obviously movie people can't just take the book and make it into a movie. That would be too simple, right? They have to add and subtract their own scenes until it all bears just a passing resemblence to the books. Which is fine if you're approaching the movies without first reading the books, but since most of us have all ready read the books... Finally, the actual characters. They fail. Sorry. Let's start with Bella. I've all ways liked Bella. She can be a little whiny, but other than that she's great. She's supposed to be sweet, innocent. Wanting to help everyone and everything. The movie? She's a tough little tomboy. There is no sweetness their. She's like the tough girl in highschool everyone knew, smoking out behind the school, out playin' with the boys all the time. Decent girl, but all ways took herself too seriously. We all knew she'd marry a redneck and spend her days howling at her pack of sons whenever they got to roughhousing, cigarette hanging from her fingers. This is not the Belle portrayed in the book. But it's what you get in the movies. Next we have Edward. He's the same way. You expect Mr. Proper, and you get wanna-be tough chick's boyfriend. His speech is not what you'd expect from a man who was born a century ago. I mean, I don't expect him to be proper at all times, but he at least has to know how to do it when needed, and you just don't get the sense that he does. There's no 'ancient' feel. He isn't special. Moving onto Alice. Seriously, what happened? Tiny little pixie girl has turned into normal sized girl. I mean, she's taller than Bella at times! There's nothing pixie-like about her at all. She's average. Now Carlisle is someone I like. I think his character fits the part very well. His features can convey the sense of perfection the vampires so needed. You actually get an inhuman feel from him. As for the wolves, eh. Graphics could have been better. I've seen better work with dragons, and I'm fairly certain dragons are harder to create than a wolf. You rarely get the feeling that the wolves are really 'there'. They dont' mesh together with the real characters. It breaks the effect. The graphics and sounds were something I expected to be perfection. They weren't. Whenever anyone jumps up to a window, you get this horrible 'whoosh'ing sound, and the graphics fail to make it look real. The running is so terribly awkward as well. I don't care if they think it's how it looks. It just doesn't look real. Believable. And that's about it for the facts that were missed. :D I won't bother to get into how my personal visions didn't match with the big screen. :)
