incredible book
I am so glad I read this book! Jonathan Roumie, from The Chosen, introduced it during Lent. I was so impressed that I had to read the whole book.Takashi Nagai needs to be known to the world. A humble man of God. Maybe someday he will be made a Saint in the Catholic Church. I will pray for that!

Remarkable book
I read this book as part of my Lenten reflections on the prayer app Hallow. I knew nothing about Nagasaki and the Catholic community there before and after the war. An excellent book.

A Book for Every Human Being
Here it the perfect answer to the Book of Job. A story for people of all faiths and no faith.A biography of a man. Read it. Consume it. Digest it. Pass it on. Then live it to the utmost of your ability. No regrets. Beyond words. A love story of a different kind gifted to all who can hear.

A book for our times
There are many ways to look at this wonderful book. One way involves insight into the factors that led Japan to have such a hatred for the US. A major one was punishing tariffs and another the demonizing of Asians as the "yellow plague." Proper diplomatic relations on both sides could have prevented this war.But it is also a book about providence and suffering. It's also the conversion story of a hardened materialistic atheist. All in all, I came to love Takshi Nagai. Please pray for us, Takashi.

Wow. I am speechless except to recommend everyone read and reflect
This is not a "Catholic book" but rather a marvelous story of a man almost unknown in Western circles, but a man who can make sense out of some of the cruelest moments of life. Yes, it is a conversion story that even today will aid and heal people who are suffering in any number of ways.

A truly amazing story
This book is truly inspirational. The faith, courage, love that Nagai experienced is an example of true faith that everyone should read. I am truly a better person for reading this book and hope to live my daily life with the joy , thankfulness and acceptance that Nagai lived his life. Nagai’s story helped me re-affirm my faith in God and re-enforce the notion that even in despair we can have hope.

Takashi Nagai is a saint
A Song for Nagasaki is one of the most inspirational books I have ever read. Our world is filled with negativity and Nagai’s journey is a powerful example of faith that we need in our troubled times.
