Stunning!
I bought this to replace a $1,000 30" DoubleSight monitor that I'm trying to repair. This thing easily rivals the DS-309w's sharpness and is twice the size! If you compare this unit to most monitors, or TVs for that matter, you might notice the spartan styliing of the unit itself (i think this is what one of the other reviewers was refering to when he mentions the QC of the monitor). Any bad feelings about that when you see that 4k image at 42"! Just beautiful...Now all I need to do is figure out how to switch the default language to English and I'll be all set.

Great picture, huge size, minor annoyances
The image quality is excellent, at least on the screen I received. I was expecting some dead pixels, and while I haven't run specific test programs, so far I've noticed no problems after several days of heavy usage. The 42 inch size with 4K res is excellent for programming and CAD work, which is most of what I do.Haven't got any games here, nor a video card capable of 3D gaming at 4K res, so I can't really comment on how this monitor would work for games. This monitor does have some minor annoyances. Probably the worst is a shadow problem with the bezel. You should really consider this is a 3820x2140 resolution monitor, since about 5-10 pixels on each edge aren't visible unless you move your head to that extreme side (and then the problem is worse on the other 3 sides). The pixels can be seen, but they're dark. If you're the sort of person who's annoyed by small but very visible quality problems in a product, this might be a deal breaker. The other daily annoyance is the speakers make a buzzing noise. (with no audio cable connected, only displayport and power) Pressing the mute button on the remote silences the buzzing. This gets old, because the mute setting is forgotten every time the monitor goes into sleep mode. It's also forgotten when switching between sources with a KVM switch. The remote control was obviously meant for a television. It works great from several feet away, but doesn't work at all if pointed at the IR sensor from the distance you'd normally sit in front of a computer monitor! Doing this seems to overwhelm the IR sensor for a while. I found pointing it at the wall in the back of my room seems to work fairly well. There are 6 buttons on the back side of the monitor that can be used, but they're difficult at best to navigate reaching around the side of the screen. The stand is 2 fixed legs, which are 35 inches apart and flare outwards somewhat. This monitor absolutely will not fit on a desk less than 35 inches wide, unless you buy some sort of aftermarket stand. Normally monitors have a stand in the center, so you can count on allowing the sides of the monitor to overhang the edges of a smaller table or desk. Not this one. The legs aren't adjustable in any way. You also can't adjust the tilt or height, like you might expect with the stands that commonly come with well known brand monitors. The screen is semi-gloss. Nearby lights, windows, or anything in the room that reflects light can be pretty easily seen. This is probably a bigger issue if you use dark backgrounds or play games, which almost always have dark scenes, or watch movies. For normal desktop usage with mostly white backgrounds, reflections aren't as easy to see. It's shame these "monitors" can't be made with matte screens like normal computer monitors.Everything is in Korean. The OSD can be switched to English, with a little guesswork or by watching a video on youtube to figure out which Korean-labeled option is the one for language. The buttons on the remote, and the (minimal) printed material is also completely in Korean, no English version. Not a big deal if you're at all familiar with monitors and TVs, but maybe frustrating if things don't work.

Meh. Does not live up to the awesomeness that I expected.
I purchased this monitor and received it at the end of 2015. I am moderately content with the purchase. I have no HDMI 2.0 devices, so I have been unable to test that input. So here is my analysis of the pros and cons:PROS:- Big, Full 4k output @ 60Hz through DisplayPort.- MStar CoProcessor does pretty good job at handling non-native resolutions.- HDMI 1.4 inputs look fine.- Wake from sleep works pretty well.CONS:- Some image retention is noticeable, especially when viewing white text on a darker background, and then scrolling around. This is the biggest negative against this model.- Not quite as bright as I like. (I have a Yamakasi Sparta 301 model that blows it away in the brightness department - to be fair it is 400cd/m)- Color setup was quite difficult. The colors look pretty yellow out of the box, and it took some time to set them up to be acceptable. It seems it would be very difficult to get the colors spot on even with a calibrator tool of some sort.- Remote text is in Korean, and it is sometimes difficult to get the monitor to "see" the signal. All in all, the monitor is just ok at best. I would NOT order it again given the numerous cons listed. However, there are very few 4k monitors available at this large size, so the competition is low for this model.

Great Monitor
I have been disappointed with so many 4k products that I was glad to order this on a trial basis. It has exceeded all my expectations.

Video glitches, bright/sparkling pixels, missing 'black' areas - after manual board replacement, problem even worse. Avoid.
Purchased from an eBay seller. Complete write up on my blog of my experience - screenshots, images, videos, etc. If you search for "Wasabi Mango RevsionX Review" on Google, you can find it easily. Arrived with occasional black "block" missing from the top right of the display when powered on. If the PC was turned on before the TV (on DisplayPort), the image would never come up without rebooting the PC. With certain images it would almost display what looked like stuck pixels, but it was more of video speckling (video on site). Their support shipped me another board, so I reluctantly replaced the board and it actually fixed all the problems, but this new board has even worse (unacceptable) video glitches every 10-30 seconds or so (another video on my site). With each problem they offered a partial refund, but really - who wants any monitor with video sparkles or non-stop glitches? Spend more to get something reputable, these sets have not been through a thorough enough QA process to be shipping today, IMO.

QC issues, otherwise a good IPS 4K monitor
Quality control issues, otherwise a good IPS 4K monitor. Got pixel perfect version. Not dead pixels and Good IQ, though it glows quite a bit. Polarization film peels off by itself on one corner. Occasionally, screen goes black when running. Internal PCB seems to be faulty.
