This item is worthless. Features didn't work from day one. If it wasn't so cheap, I would have returned it. Would be glad to send a video of it being smashed with a hammer if the vendor would issue me a refund. Buyers beware.

This motion sensor light socket works well for me as far as the light sensing capability goes. I put it in one of my closets and the light sensor works well for me, sensing movement and turning on quickly. I like the option of setting how long the light stays on. That worked well for me as well. There is a setting called "Adjustable LUX". I'm still not exactly sure what it does. There really isn't a good description of that on the box. It doesn't matter to me though since I'm using this motion sensor socket in a dark closet so that was the main purpose I got this item.

This motion sensor light socket is one of those gadgets that takes a little patience at first, but once you get it tuned correctly, you never have to think about that light again. The tricky part is adjusting the sensitivity and how long the light stays on after motion. Out of the box it took a few tries to get it just right, but once the settings were dialed in, it worked exactly the way I hoped. It turns on when someone walks by, stays lit long enough to be useful, and shuts itself off without wasting power. The day and night modes are helpful too, since you can choose whether it works around the clock or only after dark. After setup, it has been great in areas like the garage and basement where hands are full or switches are inconvenient. It also adds a little security since motion at night triggers the light automatically. If you want a low-cost way to automate a light without installing a whole smart system, this is a solid option. Expect to spend a few minutes adjusting the controls, but once you do, it is a set-and-forget upgrade that makes life easier.
