Easy to use
Works like a charm. The non stick surface is still perfect after 3 months of use. The plates are removable and dishwasher safe, but the are super easy to clean by hand with a wet paper towel.

Perfect Belgian Waffles!!
The waffles are crispy and airy just like a Belgian waffle should be. I love that the waffle plates are removable and they are easy to wash. I don’t believe the quality of the entire unit is where it should be as there is a lot of plastic, but because the waffles come out so wonderfully I can overlook it.

Nice
Waited and waited for the price to go down and when it finally did, I bought it. This is easy to use, makes a good waffle, and most importantly, the removable waffle grill pads are easy to clean.

3.5 stars Bad Smell, great waffles
Pros: Makes perfect waffles, I mean absolutely amazing Browning adjustment dial Ceramic plates are truly nonstick, no oil needed (my recipe has butter in it) Ceramic has lower toxicity than other teflon models which is why I bought this one Removable plates are easier to clean, which is why I bought the pricier version Pretty easy to use, easy to flip Cons: Horrible chemical smell that impacts my whole house, hoping it will “burn off” soon (the smell is from the electronics, not from the plates touching the food) or I will return it Takes up a ridiculous amount of storage space Cord doesn’t rotate when you flip waffles, so if you don’t turn it back the right way, you can over twist and damage the cord Removable plastic drip plate is kind of a lame design- pretty easy not to drip the batter if you know what you’re doing, so it seems like another cheaply made part to deal with Costs more than others My two cents: It says you can put the plates in the dishwasher but I think over time that will impact the nonstick performance so I play it safe and handwash. I hope the smell fades or back it goes.

A great waffle maker
After doing much research on non-stick coatings, I settled on a waffle maker with a ceramic surface. I have birds, and non-stick coatings can give off fumes that are deadly to birds. However, having never had an appliance with a ceramic coating, I couldn't judge the fairness of the negative reviews and that made me hesitant to order. In the end, I decided to just go for it, trusting that with my years of cooking and baking I could probably make this work. Turns out, I needn't have worried. This is a great waffle maker. I purposely waited until I'd used this appliance a number of times, so I could write an informed review. First, the ceramic coating is fantastic. After many batches of crispy, brown waffles, I've never had one stick. Cleanup is a breeze. Second, there's no need to eliminate oil in your recipe or do anything special with preparing the grids. My waffle recipe uses a half cup of vegetable oil and it works just fine. I preheat the waffle maker while I'm mixing the batter. Once it’s hot, I brush the grids with a very small amount of oil - and I do mean small. I just dab the brush in the oil. If you have oil running down the grids as you brush them, you're using too much. (Note #1: I rarely have to re-oil the grids after the first time. Note #2: I don't use cooking spray, it damages non-stick finishes). Third, I use the waffle maker on the #3 setting to ensure it gets hot enough to crisp the waffle. I spoon about 3/4 cup of batter onto the hot grids, close the waffle maker and flip it. Wait until most of the steam stops coming out (the green ready light usually comes on about then), then flip it back and open it. The waffles are always nicely browned and crispy. Lastly, I’m careful about maintaining the appliance. When I'm finished, I never put the grids in the dishwasher. Dishwasher detergent is very harsh. It takes only a couple of minutes to wash the grids by hand with soapy water, dry them, and put them back in the waffle maker. Mine still look and work like new. I hope this helps anyone who might be on the fence about whether or not to take a chance on this appliance.

Lightweight and easy to clean
As I aged, I found my nice Waring waffle maker harder and harder to clean and it became heavier and heavier. I tossed it and got this much cheaper waffle maker and I love it. Easy to clean, light enough to haul up and down the stairs, and it makes a very nice waffle.

Doesn't actually cook anything
Do not buy. My husband and I spent weeks researching to find a non-teflon belgian waffle maker with removable plates. We landed on this guy, and it is TRASH. We may have just gotten one of those with manufacturer defects, but there are too many reviews stating the same thing. First, when I opened the package the dial was loose in the box with the washer that locks it into place. After some fiddling I was able to get the dial into the washer and locked into place on the machine. This may potentially be the cause of the second problem... Second, this thing can't cook a waffle to save a life. See my attached picture - this is my second attempt with half the amount of batter and TWENTY MINUTES of cooking at max heat. I used a very highly rated belgian waffle recipe. It also doesn't hold its temperature. It constantly goes in and out of "ready" mode...and when its in ready mode i can hear some sizzling and see the steam, but that lasts for all of 30 seconds before it goes "not ready" and stops cooking. Third, the majority of this machine is plastic. Very cheap plastic. I almost broke the handle turning it because it hadn't locked in all the way. Very little pressure and it was close to snapping. Do not recommend this at all...the construction of it is that of a $20 machine, and it doesnt even work.

Great Waffle Maker
Just made my first waffles on this unit. They came out delicious! Clean up was super easy because of the removable griddles. I highly recommend this waffle maker!!!
