Excellent product, very functional for the kitchen. Additionally, it helps little ones dispose of food scraps without touching the lid, as it opens automatically when it senses hand movement nearby.

8/29/2021 - 4th update Still using this trash can. Looks very much as it did from day one. No dents. Some minor signs of wear but nothing noticeable to someone not looking for it. Operates just as it did from day 1. It is used daily and batteries require replacement about every 18 months. My oldest son loved it so much he bought one for his first home. When it finally gives out, I hope the same item is available for repurchase because I will replace it immediately. Worth every penny and then some. 5/6/2018 - 3rd update. It's been 10 months and this thing still looks brand new and works as well as it did the day I got it. It's used multiple times every day and I've replaced the batteries only once. I hope it lasts, at least, another 10 months but I'll be buying again if and when it ever breaks. Original review and an update: Updating my review to 5 stars today. It's been 4 and a half months. I've only had to replace the batteries once so far. It is still working perfectly and almost everyone who sees it wants to know where I bought it. I was worried about the exterior getting dents. It's been knocked over a few times and it still looks brand new. Not even a tiny dent or scratch. It's super easy to wipe clean when needed. The lid has been removed countless times to change the trash bag but still fits snuggly like it did on day 1. Really glad I purchased this. Today, I like it ... but I understand most of the negative reviews. The trash can looks sharp. I'm decorating a new home and was torn between certain trash cans. A trash can isn't exactly an item you want showcased in your kitchen and this one definitely stands out ... but I was intrigued by the touch-free feature and it is only $10 more than the last plastic trash can I purchased. I decided to pull the trigger and give it a try ... with low expectations. It came decently packaged but not protected enough to withstand dents/damage had anything terribly heavy been tossed on the box during transit. The trash can is thin and not nearly as sturdy as your typical plastic containers ... but probably sturdy enough if you are careful with it. Some people have complained that their lids did not fit properly. I can see this occurring quite easily. Some buyers have complained about the lid not sealing well enough to keep out odors. I don't toss things in my trash that could stink up my kitchen so this would never be an issue for me. This container is operated by 4 AA batteries. I cannot review battery life yet though I will update this in a few months. The trash can opens easily and in a timely manner. We don't have to wave our hand over the sensor. We simply place our hand or the trash directly over the lid and it opens immediately. I do wish it would close sooner. There is 6-7 second delay. The trash can also produces a noise when the lid opens and a louder one upon closing. It's not an offensive sound but noticeable even from the next room. We are all digging the touch-free feature and I like the stainless steel appearance more than I thought I would. So far, it gets 4 stars. I'll update after we've had a chance to put it to good use. I'm curious how long this thing will last and honestly thinking we'll be lucky to have it functioning and without dents in 6 months. But, for now, we like it and I have no regrets in buying it.

When I got this trash can, I loved it! It worked well. Wave your hand over it and it opened. 3 seconds later, it closed automatically. At about the 4 month mark I had to change the batteries. I worked fine for a while. Then about 1 month later it started not responding as well to the open/close features. I replaced with brand new batteries a few times since and the touchless features are failing. It will open only half way with a wave of hand. It will not close on it's own at all. It just stays open until you physically close it now. Is it still a good product? Yes! But, dont hold your breathe on the touchless features for long. I like the size of it. It is sturdy and has a good weight to it. It looks decent, for a trash can. Would I buy it again, maybe not! The normal sixed 13 gallon bags don't fit it very well. They work, but are a bit small for this bin. I buy 18 gallon ones for it online. The noise level is good. You can hear a slight motor movement sound when it opens and closes, so it's not silent but not bad.

Love it. Lid opens and closes easily, love the motion sensor. Same size as my old one so I didn’t have to buy new trash bags. It’s sleek and the size holds a lot. It doesn’t make any noise and it doesn’t weigh a lot.

This trash can is everything as described and more! The true red color is beautiful and enhances my kitchen accents! It flips its lid as if a salute and closes automatically; or if need be, with a touch of a button, it opens & closes manually as well! The shape and size are perfect as it fits in most anywhere; especially in my tiny kitchen where it is the center of attention! The price was an unbeatable bargain and it’s the easiest to empty & load without fuss or muss! I use scented 13 gal garbage bags that easily fit without any excess plastic overlap! I recommend this automatic trash can for anyone who wants to decorate their kitchen with function and style!

It has a nice colour and works well. The size is great for a recycling bin.
