Great for injured, incapacitated, or older folks
Great for injured or older folks that still want to maintain some level of independence. I purchased this for my dad and it was a big help. Having this allowed him to remain more independent for years. I would recommend this for those injured, incapacitated, or older folks. Set-up is pretty easy and provides a few extra inches that makes a differences from being self-sufficient vs. needed assisted care. And honestly, who wants someone hovering when they are trying to use the restroom.

Great product
My mother had bilateral knee replacement surgery, and this was one of the equipment I was told to purchase. It was easy to install, feels very comfortable, and sturdy. The thickness holds up weight well, it does not bend. It fits over the bowl perfectly and stay in place using the dial at the front. The handles even though they are plastic they hold up well when using them to stand up. Perfect design. It has been several months since surgery, and it is still in use and holding up well.

Good choice for temporary need.
My toilet is short. Definitely not "comfort height". I needed something to enable me to use my toilet after having a total knee replacement and this seat worked pretty well. I liked the width and height of the padded grips and the seat itself was comfortable. It was really easy to install on my 16.5 inch (front to back) round toilet without having to remove the existing toilet seat. What I did not like was the lateral stability wasn't the greatest. If you do not use equal pressure with your arms when rising the seat tips. It never fully came off the commode but if you have balance issues it definitely leaves you feeling unsteady. Also, the seat has no lid on it. If you are looking for a long term booster seat I would consider a seat that bolts onto the existing toilet instead. For short term use this seat is a very good option.

Just right
It has helped my elderly mother a great deal. It was easy for me to install and fits the older toilet fine. She feels secure on it and finds the arms helpful.

We purchased this last year in March for my father after a stroke. Several facts about this product
Very sturdy once attached to the toilet. Raised the height making it less of a drop to sit down. The rails offered a safer and much sturdier sit down. The rails allow for a stronger balance when going down to sit. They also aid the same whenstanding up. Don't worry about messy drops. We all poop. The circumference of the opening allows for a clean drop. The only thing you will be cleaning each time you poop is your behind. You don't need a medical reason to use this product. This is great for elderly or anyone needing to raise the height of your toilet and add extra support for balance. I used it and found it very useful myself. I suffer with back issues and found it more comfortable to sit and stand up from the toilet. It took a lot of pressure off my back from where I suffer from. A great deal of pain.

It's not for a grown person.
I measured everything before I ordered, and forgot to take in the effect of the expansion of my bottom. So, it really wasn't wide enough and I took out one of the handles. They are very good and the one I left on was very stable. The extra height is a boon to large people. However, the entryway for using the device is way too small for a larger than a normal person. You have to make adjustments depending on the required attempt. I did find it easy to install although I would spray some WD40 or something on the handle legs prior to installation. They are very solid once you install them. I found the unit to be unstable. It moves around upon use and I couldn't tighten it to keep it from moving around. For the record, I'm about 6' 1" or 2" and weigh about 270. I hope that I hit on everything. I tried to say what I wanted to say without writing the great American novel.

Great Product for the Price
Recently had a surgical procedure that prevents me from bending and lifting for several weeks. Post op this easy to install sturdy seat has been a God send. Those who complain of shifting may need to retighten over time with use, but I have found the seat very stable. It may not be super suitable for those with wide hips. However, I have had no problems with the width allocation of the arm rests. In terms of leakage, there has been none. The seat cleans easily, and I may just leave it in place following my recovery as it is comfortable and easy to use with a squatty potty. Greatly useful product!

Perfect for elderly parents
So my mother visits for long stretches of time and we need to make sure that our house is safe given that she has some level of mobility problems. I've had the riser type seat before w/o the hand rests and decided to try one with one for that extra level of security. She has back issues. Installation was fairly simple, I didn't read the instructions and accidently put the hand rails in the wrong slots but was able to figure out how to unlock the pin to switch the direction. The twist and pinch lock type installation works pretty well for an elongated toilet seat which I removed the regular toilet seat from (luckily it has quick release clips). I do kind of wish it was a bit more stable so you can still remove the seat if you yanked on it, the lock holds it in place but it's not going to hold if someone has a bad fall and tries to put their full weight on the hand rests. If that is a risk, I'd recommend getting a rail that is on the floor vs. this inbetween type of solution.

The product itself is wonderful - right size, easy to put together, However the shipper (FedEx) damaged the unit. The seller did allow for return. Great seller by the way. I’ve asked to be notified once more in stock.
