Absolutely life changing.
Summary: If you have a skin picking disorder like I do, these things are going to turn your life around. Get them. Now. Then come back and read the rest of this book I wrote for you. If you’re not a picker, go buy them immediately anyway. You’re then welcome to come back and read my tale of going from scabby mess to smooth skinned goddess purely thanks to these tiny little circles. I have gone through most of my life with severe scabbing and scarring on my face and shoulders from compulsively picking my skin. It’s an anxiety thing, not an acne thing, but it still resulted in me having terrible looking skin. I’d find some tiny bump on my skin, pick at it, cause a scab, and then pick the scab over and over. It was painful and embarrassing to just be destroying my skin without even realizing it. What I used to do is get some waterproof bandages and cover up my wounds for a few days. This was the only way the picked spots ever healed—having a physical barrier between my nails and skin. But even bandages with antibiotic ointment didn’t always do the trick, even after several days. It used a ton of expensive bandages up and was a pain to do. And who wants to go out with bandages all over their face?! Furthermore, bathing or sweating made the bandages fall off. It wasn’t the best solution. I was intrigued by these hydrocolloid things as soon as I came across them, but doubtful they’d work for my issue. They seemed too good to be true. Was I ever wrong! The day I got them, I put a couple on two big scabs on my cheek and was immediately impressed by how smoothly they blended into my skin. Even though I knew there were fresh wounds on my face, I couldn’t feel them. My skin felt smooth to the touch—MY skin! Part of compulsive skin picking is unconsciously feeling around on your skin for any inconsistencies or bumps, and then you’re bleeding before you even realize what you’re doing. I immediately noticed that when my hands would wander to one of these spots, it would just feel so nice to only feel that smooth disk and not a big scab waiting to be picked. I was also able to put makeup over the spots and they would vanish almost entirely. This is IMPOSSIBLE with scabby skin; even if you can get the redness covered up, you still have the damaged crusty skin showing through the makeup. And you’ll probably pick the scab before you get out of the house anyway. The ability to conceal in and of itself would have been enough to make these things a game changer. Then I removed them the next day. I was almost brought to tears with what I saw. What had been open, bleeding craters on my cheeks were now smooth little pink areas. You could not tell at ALL what they had looked like when I covered them with the spots. And they vanished completely under concealer. It was like a week of healing had happened in one night. One of them I was able to leave uncovered and not pick again. The other one had a tiny flake of detached skin still, so I used another spot and gave that one another night. By the next day, the wound was gone completely. Back before I had this product, it took a lot of discipline and mental focus to ever not have at least one active wound on my body that I was picking. When I could control my disorder and let my skin heal, it felt like a hard-won personal victory. But when I would inevitably start picking again, it would feel like all of my progress had shattered because I knew the cycle of pick/scab/pick would just roar back into full force. It was destructive. But now that I’ve been using these things, slipping into negative habits is just a tiny detour that I have an option to correct before things get out of control. And I don’t have to spend two days hiding my face in public so people don’t see it plastered with bandages. No more looking down at my hand to see blood on my fingertips and have no idea I had been picking. No more shoulder skin so painful and destroyed that I could barely put bra straps on. So not only have these hydrocolloid spots given me clearer skin, but they have also given me an emotional peace that I never thought was possible. Like, how can a beauty product quell internal turmoil?! Believe it. I write a lot of detailed reviews—you can check my history—and am 100% sincere in saying that this product has changed my life. These spots are now an integral part of not just my skin care routine, but also of my ability to heal physical and emotional wounds. I could not be happier. Thanks for reading if you got this far. If you’re a compulsive picker like me, you know the struggle and shame of our disorder. I hope these spots help you as much as they have me. (As a bonus, I’ve also used them for blisters and pimples, and they’re just as miraculous.)

BEST PATCHES ON AMAZON. STICKS WELL, SUPER SHEER & THIN. SPEEDS UP HEALING & PREVENTS SCARRING!
I’ve tried 6 other highly rated brands of hydrocolloid acne patches and this is by far the best brand! They’re the stickiest, the thinnest, the sheerest, and they work well under makeup. They are simply hydrocolloid bandages branded as “acne patches,” but these ones are much thinner and more discreet than any others I’ve tried. Sometimes I forget I have them on because I can’t see them! These patches are the only thing that’s helped. When I put the patch on, it protects the spot and allows it to heal in a moist environment, which is much better than dry healing since that often leaves scabs that cause scarring. The moist environment also speeds up healing, and having the patch cover the blemish prevents me from wanting to pick at my skin. It also keeps bacteria out, so I no longer have to worry about infections making the healing process harder or scarring worse. I also love that I can wear the patches under makeup and they’re barely noticeable. Makeup in an open wound is a big no-no but these take care of that. With the patches, blemishes take a few days to heal instead of the weeks it used to take and no scarring. I’ll have a little pink or hyperpigmentation, but it’s a vast improvement compared to before and it fades much faster. I’ve also tried these patches on cystic acne. They don’t do much for me when cystic acne first appears, but they help a lot after it has popped or begins draining. Hydrocolloid draws fluids out, so once there’s an opening, the patches go to work and my pimples flatten and heal quickly (sometimes overnight). Just keep in mind they don’t work on blackheads since there’s no fluid. I love, love, love this product.

Solid Product
I like these. I read some review that said someone wore them under makeup. I don't know how. They're plastic. But they are less visible than the Nextcare kind. They have a sort of glue which the others I have tried did not. Which is great because they stay on. I'm very fair and they blend pretty well into my skin. No one knows if I'm not too close to them. But I used three in a row on the same place and the glue irritated my skin. I found it better to leave one on for a day or however long, rather than trying to put on a fresh patch. I really like these but I think I'll use them in conjunction with the Nextcare ones. These are nice to hide things. Those are real go-getters for when I have a whitehead and know I won't be rolling around in bed, as they tend to pop off. As for the price, it's definitely worth it. They're better for my skin than creams and more effective. Wish this sort of thing had been around when I was younger.

🌸 FAR SUPERIOR TO COMPARABLE ITEMS!!! And I’ve tried many!
These really are far superior to the competition, at least in my opinion. I have tried a total of 5 different brands because I thought they were all one and the same; I simply shopped for the best price. However, once I tried these (4th brand) and then replaced them with another brand (5th brand) afterwards, I regret that I didn’t stick with these. THEY STICK BETTER, THEY SUCK THE GUNK OUT BETTER, & THEY’RE EASIER TO USE BECAUSE OF HOW THE BACKING TEARS AWAY FROM IT. When I first ordered them on sale, I thought I’d be annoyed by the nuances that differentiate them from the others. But, for the price, I figured it wouldn’t be a big deal to “cope” with them. Lol. SO IT’S IRONIC THAT I GREW TO LIKE THEM FOR THOSE TRAITS. For anyone who’s never used any kind of acne patch before, you should be realistic with what to expect from these. They definitely shrink my acne, but at least 50% of the time I find the pimples slowly swell up again throughout the day after removing the patch in the AM. Fortunately, the swelling that occurs doesn’t equal the size the acne would’ve been had I not used a patch at all, so for this it’s worth it. I also find it’s much easier putting makeup on over the acne I use a patch on, because the pimples aren’t all dried out from the medication I would’ve used otherwise (sometimes I use medication before putting the patch on, but I’m not sure it’s actually doing anything different; I’ll update this review if I continue doing that & do see a pattern). And even though these patches may reduce the longevity of a pimple, I’ve found that the red mark left behind remains just as long as it would if I didn’t use a patch (in other words, after 2-3 weeks the mark looks the same as if I didn’t use a patch. It’s what the pimple looked like during the first week that makes a difference). So, yah, with that being said, I DO RECOMMEND THESE BABIES TO ANYONE WHO GETS ACNE THAT DOESNT HEAL WITHIN A COUPLE DAYS, & ESPECIALLY ANYONE WHO HAS A HABIT OF PICKING AT THEIR ACNE (who doesn’t?). THIS IS A GREAT LITTLE TOOL TO KEEP YOUR HANDS AWAY. Go for it, I don’t think you’ll regret it:)

Better than Cos Rx (esp. for stubborn spots)
Honestly, these have revolutionized mine and my wife’s acne routines. Gone are the days when we had to constantly assess a zit to determine if we should leave it or dig, especially for cystic ones that never develop a whitehead. They adhere fantastically to clean skin but also stick to greasy skin, which many other brands don’t do well. Of the 4 brands we’ve tried they also hide the best under makeup...dab with liquid coverup, pat with powder or your setter of choice, and go from there. The key is to avoid highlighting the edge of the patch and these adhere so closely that’s pretty easy to do. Where these really outdo the other patches is simply how strong they are. Most of my pimples never develop to a popable state...I need to force it along with various clearing creams and lotions. These patches can be added when the pimple is just below the top layer of skin but hasn’t formed the whitehead yet. Cos Rx and the other brands need to have a formed whitehead (and ideally that whitehead broken open) in order to be as effective as these patches have been. Overnight it will form a path and suck half the puss out. 2-3 patches later I have a minimal thin scab (if that!) that heals in a day or two, whereas before it was potentially a month long process of cutting my face open, trying to force what puss I had access to out before it healed into a permanent nodule, keeping it all from healing over until eventually the zit was treated/worked everything to the surface. Literally a 30 day or more process down to 2-3 days. Many are taken care of in one night. I’ve had one particularly tough one since I started these last July that took 6 days and healed impeccably. Before this I could expect a permanent scar from a zit like that. I do use these in conjunction with other acne products to keep everything under control (Clinique's acne line), and have had great success using these in conjunction with Rael’s micro needle patches in the dark green pouch for forcing those stubborn cystic pimples to develop enough to use these. The ONLY negatives is that they are so strong they do leave a temporary red circle where you had it (and I do stress TEMPORARY). Think of it kind of like a hickey....all that suction brings the blood to the surface. It goes away in generally less than an hour or two (a shower seems to speed the process up) but it’s something to be aware of. No pealing them off in the middle of the day and walking about with it unnoticeable. Be aware of that one effect and the positives will far outweigh the negative. Ultimately, I will now keep these on hand forever. Perfect for everyday use, emergencies, wedding kits, etc.

not overnight success but good as these things go
I’ve tried a few products like this that are just the sticky material without product already on it; this is smaller, less noticeable, and sticks on better than what I’ve tried. Haven’t noticed much of a difference in reducing under the skin pimples or drawing much out, but just keeping those areas free of sweat/dirt and being able to medicate them overnight without worrying about them coming off is better than what I’ve tried in the past. Also putting them on can keep me from inadvertently touching those areas awake or asleep, which probably helps. Haven’t tried putting makeup over them but for really bad pimples just putting it on actually isn’t too bad aesthetically. Maybe long-term repeated use can help you with really annoying under the skin pimples, but for me it’s not an overnight miracle (which is okay haha, few things are)

One of my all-time favorite skin care secrets
I got a pack of pimple patches similar to these in CVS a year or two ago. I thought they worked pretty good. I tend to get cystic acne so I'll have a couple bigger sized zits for a longer period of time than normal. I liked the CVS pack enough so when I ran out, I went to Amazon to buy more. I found out there were many more brands than just the one I had from the pharmacy. I went through reviews and wound up purchasing these. To make a long story a little less long (sorry), I got this brand and am so happy I did. They come with multiple packs (unlike my CVS one, which was also more expensive), and each pack contains 3 sheets of patches. These patches are so sheer especially compared to the last brand that had some slight gridding to them. This brand says you can wear them under makeup, which I didn't believe until one day, when I had an especially atrocious zit, I couldn't bear to leave the house without makeup and these patches actually helped conceal it. I expected them to make it more obvious. One last major perk that makes this brand stand out from other acne patches is that each row of stickers are perforated so you can pull the sheets off the patches. My CVS pack did not have this so I'd have to pick at one side with my nail to lift it up to peel it off, and then the one side where I picked it up at would always turn white, rather than clear. It made it much more obvious I had a patch on my face. The first pack would only ever be worn in bed at night and I'd be a little embarrassed having my boyfriend see me in them. With this brand, I'll wear them out and about. I'll go to my sister's house with them on from the night before and she doesn't know until I pull them off. I even forget I have them on, even while looking in the mirror. You can always tell when they've helped too because they come off white on the inside, like they've pulled gunk out. I've had issues with acne for over a decade and I can truly say that this is one of the only products that makes a difference and can stop my cystic acne from taking over half my face. Just pop one on as soon as you see or feel a zit coming on and it will help reduce its onset or maybe even get rid of it completely. Long rant, but I really love this product and will definitely be getting more as soon as this one finally runs out.

It works! 💡
UPDATE REVIEW-APRIL 19, 2020: With the Coronavirus going on I put myself into a self quarantine since February 12, 2020. I was making two pumpkin pies last week and couldn't find a church key to poke a hole into my Carnation™ evaporated milk, so I used up my "stupid" moment for the year and took a steak knife to poke 4 holes into two cans and ended up missing the the last punch on the second can and punctured the web of my left hand between the thumb and index finger. I found "Steri strips" for a couple uses. Yesterday, it was not completely healed from about an inch puncture hole a inch wide, I thought, "Aha!, My pimple patches. I put one on today, it's sealed the skin together and hopefully will help it finish healing. People have had to get creative as we all go through this virus together, I'm just glad I had Dermakr to use as I was not going to the E.R. for stitches after 9 1/2 WEEKS of being home. Nothing replaces medical care, but this sure came to my rescue when I needed them plus I had Rx antibiotic for skin. Thank you guys again! One thing I had a small problem with was they don't give instructions on how to remove these from the clear plastic (???) that they come on. The pimple patches are centered on a crease, just bend the crease, gently tear it to expose one patch, and you can remove it by taking the side that doesn't have the backing on it and it does not stick on its self. Take it and put on center of blemish. So easy, but I had several that I didn't do this to and I didn't get a good seal on my face. Ok, now for the "wow factor". I have cystic/hormone spots on my chin, I think it's a pimple and it's not. The only thing that comes out of it is clear liquid (I know, don't squeeze!) I put this product on my chin on 2 that were healing and when I took the patch off, my skin was soft, the spot had shrunk by half, I was flat out amazed. No more dry skin around the blemish! These patches work; don't exactly know how but I immediately ordered 8 more packages of 38 a package. I also did some research before buying. I won't be without this wonderful product ever again. If Drs. we're not brainwashed to give their patients a script and to recommend these instead, I wouldn't have the scarring on the corners of my mouth. A hidden help for me I haven't touched the spot, as it's covered and stays that way all night! I'm not saying that some things do need a Rx but mine didn't, so thank you!
