It works perfectly.
I have a Bunsen burner that runs off propane / mapp gas. It's a little taller than some burners, and needs at LEAST 6" of clearance. A lot of the Bunsen burner stands you see are only 6" tall, so they work with shorter alcohol burners and whatnot. None of those was going to work for me, I needed a taller stand.I happened upon this, and figured it might just fit the bill. And for $16 and change, what's the worst that can happen?Well, I suppose the worst that could have happened is it could have been shipped to me full of live scorpions. Luckily, that wasn't the case, it arrived well packaged with no broken pieces or anomalies. The ring is a heavy duty piece of solid cast metal, and should survive the apocalypse. Likewise, the legs are solid metal, and thread directly into the ring. I wouldn't call the leg drill and tap job "geometrically perfect", but luckily it doesn't really have to be, it's a tripod. It assembled easily, I didn't have to re-tap any threads or perform any engineering to get this to work, it just did. The screen is a very heavy gauge screen, and while they consider the screens to be a "consumable item", most of these screens will last a decade or more, but you can get replacements right here on Amazon for less than $10.And the best part about it? It cleared my huge Bunsen burner, with room to spare. I can actually adjust it up and down depending on how close or far away I want the flame. See the pic to see the clearance - my burner is set to it's lowest possible height here. So a 6" stand would not work for me.If you're using alcohol burners or something shorter, you may want to go with a shorter stand like a 6". But if you have a taller candle like I do, this 9" is perfect and gives me plenty of wiggle room. It's solid, stable, well built, and it does what it needs to do. It's not very expensive and should last you a lifetime so long as you don't dissolve it in acid or blow it up. Based on everything, I give this 5 of 5.

Pretty Much The Standard Deal - Which Is 100% Fair
It's a tripod for soldering. It's sturdy, sits level on a flat surface, doesn't wobble around, has plenty of room for my torch underneath ... I can't see anything at all to complain about. Hundreds of these are in chemistry labs and art schools all over the world, and if you need one at home, this one will do nicely.Interestingly, this was stolen from my front porch along with some high-temp soldering tiles. It was durable enough to survive unscathed having been unceremoniously tossed into an empty dumpster across town, along with previously mentioned tiles, where local police found and returned these to me after getting a tip. Both items were in tact. Yay police!I wish I could have seen the look on the thief's face when they opened the package; this item is basically useless for anything other than it's intended function, and has almost no resale value. I wonder if Mr. Porch Pirate even knew what this is; I picture a dissatisfied look accented by puzzlement and possibly confusion. Anyway, due to said incident, the screen was lost in the process of recovery. This is unimportant, although inconvenient; one will go through many screens if they are used heavily. Most people will get a thicker gauged screen after they burn up the included screen in any case.

Clean before 1st use
The product works as intended but the first time you use it, it lets off a chemical smell, that triggers fire detectors even in a well ventilated area. May emit toxic fumes!
