The Three Little Fish and the Big Bad Shark Review: Story time is the best time! - Books are the anchor of every great preschool environment. The right stories spark curiosity, build language, and inspire imaginative play. I love watching children reenact scenes from their favorite books using puppets, blocks, or dramatic play props — all of which strengthen motor planning, sequencing, and coordination. A well‑chosen book doesn’t just build literacy; it becomes the starting point for movement, art, and hands‑on learning. Review: A Cuter New Version of The Three Little Pigs! - My son is three and is just now getting into books, so I turned to desertcart and bought him a ton of books and this book is one of them. This is a new version of the three little pigs, but much cuter I think. My son loves this book and I knew it would be a hit. He loves fish and the underwater adventure in this book is precious. The wording/text is cute and my mother even read it to him one night and got a little giggle reading it. It was really cute and funny to us adults who have to read it. "Not by the skin of my finny fin fin!" Also, the shark doesn't scare my son. We both love this book and it is becoming one of his favorites and he asks me to read it to him more and more. I would definately recommend this book.

Adorable Rendition of the Three Little Pigs
My preschoolers adored this book! It has a great story line for predictions and retell. I will definitely be keeping this one in my classroom rotation.

Great for a classroom!
This is a fun, entertaining version of The Three Little Pigs. It is great for use in the classroom - it is short and relatively simple (so fits well into the whole group reading block) but lends itself to motivation as well as educational purposes. Even from the title, students will get the connection to the original story. This is motivating and really helps some students who may still be struggling with language and/or comprehension to understand the story. It is great for teaching story elements because knowledge of the other story gives struggling students scaffolding to understands characters, problem, and solution, but it also leads to higher-level thinking with a discussion about how changing the setting really changes the story. Its also great for using with a Venn diagram or other tool for comparing/contrasting as well as predictions both before and during reading. I often do it as a little unit together with the classic story and other versions such as The Three Little Tamales by Eric Kimmel and really talk about how the characters, problem, and solution are similar/the same, but the setting really changes the story and how. Anyway, this is a fun book both just to read and to really think about and use. Every year it ends up being one of my students' favorite books!

Toddler who loves sharks thinks it's great
Great story, based on the three little pigs. Our toddler loves this book the most. It helps that the cover is very shiny silver. I'd recommend it for any little toddler who loves sharks as much as ours. Otherwise just buy the regular three little pigs story, since it's the original and this one is a little goofy.

Cute version of three little pigs
My daughter loves marine animals & is a big fan of the classic story. She loves this version & sings along with me when I read it. The ending is super cute as well!

Cute twist
This book was so much fun! My kids loved the big bad shark and acting this book out. They request it to be read at least once a week. Super cute pictures and fun twist on the 3 little pigs.

Adorable!
When the kids go over to the bookshelf, this is usually one of the books in the stack they bring back to read. Yes, it is "Three Little Pigs" inspired with a very dramatic Shark and colorful illustrations. My kids pretend they are the fish answering the big bad Shark's call of "I'll munch and I'll crunch....with "not by the skin of my finny fin fin." This is a great book to make reading fun.

Fantastic repetitive story. Used in Foundation class.

"Not by the skin of my finny fin fin!" Say that out loud a couple of times, and if you can resist the urge to laugh, you're stronger than I am! This book is totally adorable. I bought it to go with a shark themed set I'm doing as a gift for a little boy who will turn 3 at Christmas. This book is a perfect addition to the set. The book itself is really quite lovely, with bright colours (the covers are shiny, kind of like tin foil), cute pictures, and large text. The story (reminiscent of The Three Little Pigs) is simple, and the conversations are rhythmic - not scary. I can just see kids running around yelling about their finny fin fins, LOL. I would recommend this adorable book for kids up to about 6 or 7 years old - it's FUN!
