This belt is based on pieces found at a rich archaeological site at Tekije in modern-day Serbia. The entire waist of the wearer is encircled with embossed steel plates and medallions, and enhanced by the elaborate tongued steel buckle. The four tassets of the apron are likewise decorated with steel medallions and terminal ends. As sold, the belt fits to about a 47" waist; the length of the tongue allows for additional holes so the belt may be effectively lengthened.
