Snap Circuits Extreme SC-750 Experiments Electric Circuit

I have been eyeing this for sometime for my kids and when I saw this listed at an amazing price, very close to the prices available in the US, I grabbed it. It also reached me very quickly. Thanks Amazon. The product is designed to get kids excited about electrical / electronics around them. You could pull together a breadboard and several of these components at a much lower price. You would be still stuck with messy / a little unsafe soldering etc. or with ugly wires sticking around. While for some, that could be well be the 'charm' of 'rolling up your sleeves', I don't believe that is a great first introduction. Because much of the bandwidth will be spent trying to 'make it work'. Now this on the other hand, has really high quality board and parts. The manuals (there are 5 of them with this set!!) are clear and easy to follow. There is enough basic information on not just 'what' but 'why' you do them. For those who want more detailed information, you could easily pull more content online from the web. The way I chose to use it, was to get the kids (11 and 5 years) to pull together anything that caught their fancy from the hundreds available. They started attempting the very complicated stuff, but quickly agreed they would rather go in sequential order :-) The 'experiments' are organized in sequential order of difficulty / complexity. When they pulled it together, they got great satisfaction from making the bulbs flash / sirens beep etc. I would then ask them 'why they think it happened'. So without getting into complicated IC circuitry which would be above them, they started understanding the need for logical gates and how circuits work or computers 'think'. I then asked my 5 year old what logical 'gates' (OR, AND, XOR) etc. he would use for him and his friends to reach the play park and use various equipment (swing : only one allowed at a time, see saw : perforce needs two etc.) This was great fun for him and terrific learning as well. My 11 year old is now trying to seriously decide whether the 'oscilloscope' principle is best served for engineers or doctors.. and therefore what she should become when she grows up :-) Absolutely love it!! I wish I had these things when I was growing up.

Pretty costly with compare to the value it brings in. Not much to learn out of it. Kids enjoy it for some time but soon it gets boring as they are able to do it without much thought.

Se nota que el producto lo hizo algún ingeniero, las prácticas con claras y se sillas de seguir, el tema es que las explicaciones no son tan claras, si requiere la supervisión y explicación de alguien con un poco de conocimientos. Las piezas están geniales, el sistema de conexión es increíblemente sencillo y cómodo para los niños. Aunque hay que echarle un poco de cabeza al instructivo, al entenderle todo va muy bien. Mi hijo de 8 años está muy contento, lo malo es que los instructivos vienen en inglés, de lo contrario el podría hacer las prácticas solo.

11 year old like it alot. Very good manual and easy to follow

Bought as a birthday present for my 11yo Granddaughter she absolutely loves it and basically hasn't put it down since receiving it.

Our first set had a whistle chip which was not working and opted for a replacement instead of a return. A customer representative from Elenco contacted us immediately and said that they were going to ship a replacement. The replacement set arrived on time. All the experiments we have tried so far have worked out really well. Elenco is a real quality company - in terms of their product and customer service! We have already seen their video (2018 expo) of integrating building blocks with their circuits - once we are done with our set, we definitely look forward to buying that one! The instructions and explanations in the manuals are crystal clear - for our five-year old - who is pretty good with following instructions with brand-name building blocks. The components are sturdy and of very good quality. The real value of this set is in the safe design of the components, the explicit details of experimental setup and explanations of what is happening in the experiment. We were thoroughly entertained by the variety of experiments - and would give this product a 1000+ stars as a quality educational tool. Our five-year old cannot get enough of this! We definitely recommend this product and look forward to buying more of their products in the future! The set is very well--designed and well-made. My 4.5 year old can put together some simple projects by himself(the experience of laying train tracks helped), and also participate in some harder projects with adult help. He understands roughly how it works, but mostly he enjoys watching it work. The shipping was unbelievably fast. 5 days for international shipment. Wow!
