Very strong screws and work well in areas where I am unable to use a bolt and nut.

Allows one to apply more torque without worrying about stripping the head. Feels significantly more substantial than the drywall screws used previously. Still pre-drill in hardwood, but I imagine you could skip that step in dimensional lumber.

I have installed a lot of cabinets and remodeled several complete houses. I usually overdo it when putting things together and go the extra mile to make sure nothing will ever weaken or come apart. And I am not bashful about salting a few lag screws into areas requiring extra hold. No more! These GRK 1/4" diameter babies lay claim to be better than a like diameter lag. They go in a whole lot faster and really pull things together. As a test, I put a 13/16 thick strip of northern red oak on a 2X4 separated by 3/4" melamine. This is equivalent to putting a cabinet screw through a 3/4" hardwood nailer, 1/4" melamine, 1/2" drywall, then into a stud. I didn't even predrill the oak and expected it to split. It didn't. I used the 1/4" and number 10 screws. The result: I just gathered all my 3" screws tossed 'em in the can. Then I bought a whole bunch more of the GRK RSS! I will use the number 10's mostly and salt in the 1/4" screws whenever a bit more hold or draw-up is needed.

Had to replace our dock destroyed by flooding last Spring and GRK's were definitely the ideal screw for our situation! Well worth the purchase although I have noted that since I purchased, they have doubled in price! Too bad, so sad but still a solid investment for situations where strong screws are required! Highly recommend! They are 'THE' BEST screws in the marketplace imho!
