Great gloves
I typically do community theatre lighting, so the instruments range in quality and age, and I definitly don't give them professional level usage. I got these gloves after an old pair of Setwear work gloves bit the dust, and so far I've not been disappointed. I logged good 20 or so hours of work time with them just after buying them, and they've been incredibly comfortable so far. My hands got pretty hot with some of the lighting instruments several times (incredibly old Fresnels) but never to the point of burning. My hands do get hot just wearing the gloves, but that was something I expected due to the fact they are insulated. I was worried about the gloves right out of the box as the fit was very snug and there was little dexterity for me. (I have long fingers and relatively thin hands, 7.5" from the base of my palm to the tip of my middle finger for reference) After about 8 hours of work, the gloves had loosened up substantially and the insulation inside had packed down a bit. The gloves fit wonderfully now and show very little signs of use outside of typical creases. I'm hoping to get the same mileage out of these, if not more since they are leather. For me, they are great gloves. I'd recommend them to anyone who is looking for a nice pair of lighting gloves. I've been using Setwear gloves for over ten years now, and they've taken years of punishment in stride. The Setwear warranty is also nice in case anything happens to the gloves.

If you're between sizes, get the larger size.
Work as they should; if you're between sizes, get the larger size. I would buy these again if needed.

Excellent quality, heat resistant and durable
These gloves are worth the money. As a theatrical lighting technician, I often need to touch extremely hot lighting fixtures to adjust them. These gloves protect my hands long enough to make the changes I need to make. After about ten seconds, the heat of a 750w halogen lamp burning at full intensity inside a metal casing begins to be uncomfortable through these gloves; but that's usually more time than I need. The fit of these gloves is excellent (I'm a lady so I got the small size). They are leather, so you will have to sacrifice a little dexterity to use them. Once broken in (give it 1-2 weeks of constant use) they're a little easier to use. I still have to take them off to, say, tie my shoes. But if you need gloves that will protect you from high temperatures and still fit snugly for maximum dexterity, these are a great choice.I've also used these when unloading trucks and moving heavy cable, and I can say they're very durable.

Just what was needed, order size smaller for women
Bought these for my daughter who builds theater sets, does rigging, etc. and the durability is good. They allow her to bend fingers without too much bulk handling hot lights isn’t a problem. BE AWARE these are men's sizes. She is petite so I bought small but should have gotten extra small for a snug fit.

SetWear gloves are great
I love these gloves, I ordered a size to small and SetWear immediately replaced them and gave me a larger pair which was great. Once I received the right size which took under a week from sending them back to receiving them again I immediately went to a lamp in my room that had been on for close to eight hours and grabbed the light bulb with no problem. You couldn't feel any heat coming through the leather gloves. Since then I've used them on several different types of lights and I've never had any problem with them. They always hold up under the heat.If you deal with hot lights or anything under 400 degrees these are great gloves and will really save you're fingers. As a side note I've used these in the oven before with no problem. So they do work as oven mitts in a pinch.

I like that there is a space to write your name ...
I ordered a size small thinking they would be the right size for me as a woman of 5ft3in but apparently my hands are bigger than I thought and these fit really snug. a seam on my one of my fingers digs into the skin a bit as a result. These definitely make handling hot lights so much easier though and faster. I like that there is a space to write your name or other identifying label. I will buy again in my proper size as I learn more about set lighting and develop a more frequent need for them.

Thick leather - Get Larger Size
These are good gloves, but they do run small. I ordered medium, because that fit the measurement of the width of my hand. The medium gloves were so tight that I could not close my hand into a fist. Large are still stiff and tight, but I think they will break in and be just right. Great service from Guru Enterprises. The new large pair arrived before I shipped the other ones back.

( hence why I thought it okay to spend 90$ on them again ) but the ones I got in the mail were crap in comparison
Not as advertised. The picture is the pair I owned before and wanted to replace. They WERE crafted really well....( hence why I thought it okay to spend 90$ on them again ) but the ones I got in the mail were crap in comparison: No additional leather padding wrapping around the index finger, thumb. The sizing is all off!! The palm size is a small, finger sizes are medium and the thumb sizes are large!! I could have gone to any walk in store to find a pair of gloves with this level of craftsmanship for 15$. Don't waste your money.
