High Speed Digital Design: A Handbook of Black Magic

A reference book worth keeping and learning from; repeatedly
I use this as a reference work for electronic hardware design. It is a wonderful source of material additional to the usual textbook-like presentations. Not cheap, but technical books aren't. I'm glad I added it to my resource library and recommend it to those who will find value in it.

Simply essential for PCB design
This handbook is absolutely a must if you have to deal with PCB design. It discloses, in a very practical manner, many tricks that help in the design of a PCB. It's clear that it's written from direct practical experience and because of that it's incredibly useful.

Very Good Quality
It came with no damage whatsoever. Basically new except for there being a big sticker with the name of the previous owner stuck to the front cover

Great book that covers fundamentals of high speed digital design
This is a great book for covering the basics of high speed digital design. It's as comprehensive as a textbook but without gets straight to the salient details. Despite being written 1993, the tools are absolutely still relevant and applicable to modern digital design.

One of the best books I have read on High Speed Design
This book spells out (using math and English) what I had learned the hard way over years of hardware design and takes the black magic out of why high speed systems work the way they do. My favorite practice was to go running for this book as a second opinion whenever someone didn't grasp what I was saying about intricate signal or grounding related issues. From PCB layout, to circuit design practices to how to get your oscilloscope to accurately display the real signal, this book tackles it all..-Old Commodore Engineer, Designer of the C128, Plus4

A valuable reference for High Speed Digital Design
I was just a student when I got the book. At first I was skeptical of the notion of treating the explanation of the topics discussed as "Black Magic," but as I learned more about High Speed Digital Design, I started to embrace it.

Good text and reference
Even after ~20 years the material is still applicable. Text is well presented and covers concepts well. Reasonable "short cuts" are explained and sufficient math/equations are shown to support them.
