Reciprocating Saw Attachment

Works great as an addition to my set. Useful for quick jobs where I don’t want to dig my corded recip saw out.

This worked amazingly well, of all the Matrix accessories I think this one acts the most like the real thing. given the grip I actually find it more comfortable than a traditional reciprocating saw. I liked the idea of the matrix system because it seems like a good way to take one bag of power tools (speaking of which the Matrix bag itself is quite nice) to most jobs and though they might not be as good as the real things they would get the job done. I was more or less right so far with the accessories I have bought but when I find myself reaching for this or my 18v Makita I actually find myself grabbing for this tool (unless it is for thicker metal in which case the Makita wins on power). I advise getting some Lenox fire and rescue blades to go along with this, they last a long time and will cut through just about anything. I know the picture looks a little awkward but the front hand gripping lower than the rear hand is amazingly comfortable.

Was a little apprehensive about this, but glad I purchased it. It works well, and the small size means it lives in my kit with the Matrix Drill base - meaning it's always available. A full size reciprocating saw is in my workshop, while this one is always with me. It seems fairly heavy duty in its construction, not as strong as a dedicated Recip but works well for smaller projects and has enough power for larger ones if you go at the speed of the tool, slow down a little. The hold position is quite comfortable, I was worried it would be awkward but it is not. The Matrix quick connect works great. Cons: 1. Its not a contractor grade tool, but excellent for the home owner. 2. It has a lot of vibration, so making precise cuts is more difficult . 3. The blade it comes with is very poor, it's flimsy and ensures your cuts aren't precise - toss it and get some good blades. (Good blades also reduced some of the vibration, and allowed me to do well controlled cuts). 4. Seems to eat through the battery quickly, easy solution - get some spare batteries and a fast charger. Overall - I use this more than my full size reciprocating saw, it's always in my kit with my drill so it's not a special trip to the workshop to get the full size. It's working very well and combined with other Matrix attachments makes for a compact but very capable set. What's not to like?

I can't believe this thing, it's great. I didn't have very high hopes for it but I was blown away by its performance. First thing I did was rip a 2X4 free hand. It literally melted through the wood. The board was built in a structure about head high - kind of awkward. It performed very well. I have since cut all kinds of things, including tree limbs. I love it. I bought the drill first and was pretty impressed with it so I decided to try this attachment.I also have the jig saw and it works equally well. I think B&D's Matrix idea was a stroke of genius - unlike some of their other products. I think the guy who came up with this idea should get a big raise.

For years I been a fan of the Black & Decker Matrix Changeable drill. In fact it is the main drill I use on most of the job sites I work on. I love it simply because of storage space it saves in my truck. This one little drill offers me Saw Saw, Drill, Impact Driver, Oscillating Saw, Circular Saw, Jig Saw, and even a small Router that takes up very little room in my truck. Yes other brands offer the same tools but they are so big and only thing that changes out is the batteries. In one simple little carrying bag I can take in all these tools I mostly will use for any small job. Which means less trips to the truck and allows me to carry more tools for other types of job I might not have enough room for otherwise. Other workers with their name brand tools might moc me from time to time. But they have reach for my drill and one of it's attachments to save a trip to their own vehicle. The space and time this drill comble saves me each and every day has forever earned it's place in my truck.

Great for light to medium duty jobs. Blades are standard so you can buy them just about anywhere that sells them. Easily cuts wood. Could also cut exhaust pipe, bolts, etc if you buy a metal cutting blade. It only comes with one 6" wood cutting blade. Although it could probably cut through a frame, I wouldn't advise it because it's not designed to do heavy stuff. If the unit didn't wear out first, you'd probably burn out the motor in the drive unit/drill. Perfect for the occasional handyman and around the home. Not for the construction job site.

The blade that comes with it may be useless. I did get a blade that was not fit for the Job. I was doing. However when I did buty a the right blade the Reciprocating Saw was great. There are lots of different saw blades to be bought.

excelente herramienta Matrix! a diferencia de otras del kit de 6 herramientas Matrix, esta es muy necesaria y funciona muy bien... la sierra o segueta que trae es standard, para metal/madera/clavos, es recomendable comprar un kit de sierras para cada tarea...

Excelente, funcionou perfeitamente com o conjunto que comprei no Brasil. Pena que a Black&Decker nos força a ter que importar. Serra tem ótima potência.

Have been working on the inside of my garage. Boarding the inside wall so I can put a nice heater in there for winter. I have the Matrix Drill and two attachments from previous purchases. I have a large size Ridgid reciprocating saw which I was using lots in the project and then my order came. Cut the package and used instantly. It WORKED PERFECTLY and was BETTER than the large saw for what I was doing because it could get into small places. Came with a blade which I popped in and did my cut. Cutting a notch on the inside shelf on a standard cupboard to modify so large oil jugs would fit. Very small area and with the matrix and this attachment it was a piece of cake. Without the cord. I have had the Matrix drill and separately purchased jig saw attachment for a couple years now and use constantly for all my projects. I can see why the matrix drill and attachments is hard to find in stores anymore because it stops people from buying the more expensive 120 volt corded hand tools. Why everyone does not have The matrix and some attachments floors me because it truly makes the job go so much faster. I ordered the reciprocating saw (received and used), the air pump (received but not used yet), cut off saw (not received yet and used), the whole Matrix kit that comes with drill, sander, router, jig saw, impact driver attachments (received days ahead of time. Slightly used) because first of all I love it and second I have a lake lot and wish to have the matrix and attachments at Home and lake lot. That's how impressed I am with it. Opinion: Buy the whole matrix kit for 243 some dollars ( saving probably 300 bucks on buying other electric hand tools) and purchase other attachments as necessary. Period. Some jobs (heavy duty continuous use) obviously need the corded hand tool due to battery use but other than that the matrix is the answer. I am a Journeyman Interprovincial Electrician of 32 years with Residential, Commercial, Industrial, project experience, Industrial Plant maintenance / Instrumentation mechanic. You won't be disappointed with this product.

This is a good handy attachment that works well, and as expected, and is well built. I believe it will be good to do anything that I thought it likely able to do, and is conveniently compact.

Yo tengo el sistema Craftsman Bolt-On el cual compre muy emocionado, pero en México solo se consiguen 3 tipos de accesorios, o cuatro si tienes suerte los cuales son , desarmados (que normalmente está incluido), el rotomartillo, la cierra de disco y la caladora, cada uno tiene un costo de $1,200 MXN pero siempre se encuentran en promoción y terminan costando unos $850.00 MXN, cuando busque mas accesorios no logre encontrar en ninguna parte, y encontré que los blackandeker son idénticos y compatibles, además de que un poco mas baratos, funcionan perfectamente , solo no intenten usar las pilas de matrix en Bolt-On, ni viceversa. Exelente producto, y muy buen precio.
