I just know it will hurt super bad. A lot of people don't know how to use vitamin-C, so I wanted to leave some helpful information as when used improperly, it can make aging worse and leave your skin much more vulnerable than without this. If you are using this to look younger, and you don't wear sunscreen routinely, this can make you look older (if you go out in the sun). If you stay in all day and don't stand near windows, you're fine. Vitamin C makes your skin more vulnerable to UV rays. Please never put this on and spend all day in 90 degree weather. You might "look" ok (if you don't tend to burn) but this is so bad. It's a chemical product for a reason. It works wonders on your face when you use it right. I wouldn't mix this with a lotion at all. Why? This Vitamin C is so powerful but you're diluting it when you mix it with lotion. The lotion is super heavy which won't allow this to penetrate into your skin. With skincare, you need to work your way up from in consistency and heaviness. Use this earlier on in your routine, not as the last step. Lotion should be the final seal on your skin (if you use multiple skincare products). Vitamin C is a great product but you have to be serious when you use it or you will pay for it later or with a burn. If your skin is irritated, that doesn't mean it's burned. It's great to start using a small amount to see how your skin reacts. Give it time and your skin will thank you for this. It really does brighten my skin and I am always glowing but I've been using it for over 5 years. I tend to not use it as often during the summer because sometimes I forget to wear sunscreen.

I have dry, mature skin, rosacea, enlarged pores and minor skin thickening. Once I added this version of vit C, it has really refined the texture of my skin. It's much brighter and less red, and it only took a few weeks to see a noticeable difference. I didnt notice any tightness or increased dryness. Unlike serums, I know exactly how much vit C Im getting (I weigh it), I know it hasn't lost its effectiveness bc Im mixing it right before I use it, and the value is far greater because Im getting so much. I know I cant find a serum that's this effective and packaged probably for less than 10 bucks. I use it with TO's resveratrol and ferulic acid, but Ill add a drop a water since the vit C powder is water soluble (the serum is water free). I do three days on, two days off, and I use it at night because it can make my skin a little cranky, but nothing too crazy. I also dont wear it under makeup because it affects the application and how it lays on my skin. I would strongly recommend working your way up slowly because it can irritate your skin if you use too much too often. For me, the tingling stopped after a few uses. If you can get passed that, I think you'll be very happy.

Can't get a better deal than this pure l-ascorbic acid powder at $7. One scoop in your palm, 1-2 drops water to dissolve, then apply. I can feel my face tighten right after I use it. I don't get the tingling others report but I've been using other Vit C serums for quite some time now. L-ascorbic acid is the most effective Vit C, but not commonly used in the affordable lines and you may have to use some other forms depending on your skin type. It states on the package, do not use with nicotinamide. Some formulations include nicotinamide so I wonder what would be the result of using them. Also, many formulations include Vit E or other oils, but l-ascorbic acid is water soluable and Vit E is fat soluable, how effective are they mixed together? To get the benefit of various oils, I let the l-ascorbic acid soak in first, then layer on my vit E or castor oil with essential oils. This is my new go to Vit C product! Very pleased. Update: Been using this for a couple weeks and noticing good results. I had gotten into a funk over the last couple years and let my facial care slide, sporadic at best, usually not at all. It added up and suddenly I looked old, saggy and dull. Using this l-ascorbic acid as my base has turned things around. Since I went up to a full scoop I do feel it tingle now, but it's not uncomfortable. I do advise building up to it first. I look more youthful and alive, I don't groan when I see myself in the mirror any more and I seem to be back to where I was 2 years ago. No small feat since I am in my 70's. Works great for me, happy I found it and can mix it fresh every time I use it.

I used this several years ago and then I decided to take a small break to try the serum form of vitamin C. I tried a few different brands , but in the end I decided to come back to this. For the record, I have 53 yr old normal/dry skin with a few fine lines. I have some sunspots and uneven texture and the usual concerns for my age. First, the price is obviously great. I love this line, The Ordinary, because I can custom mix and match my own serums and skincare, and that way it is targeted just for the issues I have. They must have changed the formula a little because compared to the old one, this one is easier to blend in with my cream. I use Cerave or Vanicream for dry skin and I mix one scoop with a pump, every morning. I just spread it in my hands and apply. And I really like it. There isn’t any grittiness and I do not have any irritation. After a few weeks I can attest that it is evening out my skin just as I remember. I use it every morning but if you are a first timer, start slow and gradually increase. If you have a hard time with the sticky texture of serums then you will like this.

This powder is great for my skin care. My skin type is oily and my skin condition is acne-prone. My skin has a lot of post acne hyperpigmentation marks. I mix this powder with my moisturizer with only 1/4 of the provided spoon. It works great on my skin and fades marks significantly. Unlike other reviews mentioned yellowing of the powder and broken seals, my jar is great and sealed properly. The size is good for lots of months. The texture is great and mix well into moisturizer as well as my home-made facial masks. Great purchase overall!

It dissolves within seconds in a lotion or gel, UNLIKE the gritty stuff I got here from a different brand. It's a very fine powder. My skin has slowly become more even toned with almost daily use over the past couple of months, I use a full scoop and apply to my neck too. I highly recommend!

I'm very happy with this vitamin C. It has a tingling sensation when you apply it on the face (you should mix it with your daily moisturizer) but apart from that nothing major. I used it for a week already, my skin looks tight and plump. My friend told me that my face looks radiant. It's definitely a must addition in my daily beauty routine. Truly recommend 👌

Love this product. My skin is glowing and looks fresh. Did tingle a little when I put it on my face but I was excepting that. Will be ordering this product again.
