In China to donate his kidney to his dying niece, Deacon (Van damme), a former black-ops agent, awakes the day before the operation to find he is the latest victim of organ theft. Stitched up, Deacon descends from his opulent hotel in search of his stolen kidney and carves a blood-soaked path through the darkest corners of the city brothels, fight clubs, back-alley black markets, and elite billionaire estates. The clock is ticking for his niece and with each step he loses blood. Pound Of Flesh sees Van Damme back to what he does best - nonstop, hardcore action. Review: Great Van Damme blu ray. - Really love it. It's one of the blu rays that I wanted in my collection, which it will be completed soon with new blu ray from Van Damme's filmography. The blu ray doesn't have any extra features. Review: EXCELLENT STORY, EXCELLENT ACTING. I THINK I MIGHT HAVE SAID EXCELLENT! - Make no mistake this is a terrific film covering a subject that I'm sure goes on all too often. (Think Hostel but more for profit than perverse kicks). The story is EXCELLENT and the action even more intense than Van Damage usual. The only downside for me, is that for a film made in 2015, to have no subtitles is downright amateurish. (I'll put that down to an unintentional oversight.) If this was made as a 'straight to DVD' I really don't understand why. The two main characters work very well together and the ending can't fail to affect you, unless you have no feelings at all. x

Underrated Van Damme Movie
Pound Of Flesh. Genre: Action. Certificate:15/R. Running Time 104 Minutes. Synopsis. Deacon is a former black-ops agent who awakes the day before the operation to find he is the latest victim of organ theft. Stitched up, Deacon descends from his opulent hotel in search of his stolen kidney & carves a blood-soaked path through the darkest corners of the city brothels, fight clubs, back-alley black markets, & elite billionaire estates. The clock is ticking for his niece & with each step Deacon loses blood. Timelord Thoughts. 'Pound Of Flesh' sees the muscles from Brussels - Jean Claude Van Damme back to what he does best - high kicking, fist punching action, ok so there's a few occasional naff green screen shots during the driving sequences but on the whole this is a testosterone fuelled action flick with a bonkers but entertaining plot that features a nice twist at the movies climax. Jean Claude Van Damme seems to be playing far darker characters of late & Deacon is another one of those characters who has a past full of secrets, Van Damme adds emotional depth to his character somehow making a unlikable character likeable. British actor/stuntman/fight cheographer Darren Shahlavi is on scene stealing form as the villain Drake, but sadly Shahlavi died of a heart fatal heart attack caused by atherosclerosis in January 2015 he was only 42 & this movie is respectively dedicated to him. The direction by Ernie Barbarash is stylishly shot & the fight scenes pack a decent enough punch for a B' movie, the plots sees Deacon (Van Damme) have a one night stand with a women he supposedly saves & wakes up the next morning in a ice bath with one of his kidneys missing which he was donating to his sick niece who is in vital need of a transplant so Deacon frenetically races against the clock with the help of his brother to take down the bad guys & get back his stolen kidney, in order to save his dying niece. The plot is completely far fetched & ludicrous but it's entertaining switch your brain off action hokum & overall this is a solid enough fast paced entertaining thriller, if your a fan of JCVD movies like myself then 'Pound Of Flesh' is definitely worth a watch & is one of the Muscles from Brussels better straight to DVD releases of recent years. A underrated gem.

JCVD Back at his best.
Jean Claude Van Damme back to his best. After some rubbish films - apart from Expendables 2 - he does what he did best. Great entertainment.
