Cade Shaving Soap 3.50 fl oz

This is the second year I’ve tucked Cade Shave Soap from L’Occitane into my husband’s stocking — which tells you everything you need to know. It creates a rich, creamy lather that makes shaving smoother and more comfortable, especially during the dry winter months. The scent is clean and masculine without being overpowering, and the soap lasts forever, making it feel like a small luxury that actually gets used. A repeat gift for a reason — classic, practical, and quietly elevated.

Works well, I have used this shaving soap for a few years now, long lasting, smells good, feels good, easy on the skin. I have a metal container I keep mine in.

First, I'm a shaving fool. It's a hobby. I hate to admit that. But I have an assortment of razors, shaving soaps, shaving creams, aftershaves, balms, etc. This is the best hard shaving soap I've found. It's better than Martin de Candre, which is about four times the price. It's a hard milled long lasting soap that provides a thick, protective, slick lather and the scent is subtle and perfect.

My husband uses a regular men’s razor, and he uses this soap applied with a brush. I discovered L’Occitane when traveling through the Charlotte airport. Since I don’t have to fly anymore, I’m very happy to find this on Amazon. My husband loves the way the soap performs and especially likes the smell. It made a great Christmas stocking stuffer.

This is my very 1st "TERRIBLE PRODUCT" review. I've been a brush & razer shaving nut for over 15 years, and I've used a variety of wonderful shave soaps, triple milled soaps, creams, and lotions. I always shave a clean face with hot water. L'OCCITANE Cade Shaving Soap is without exception, one of the worst soaps I've had the displeasure of using. There is no real scent, but just a hint of pleasant sweetness. Working with a silvertip badger brush and hot water, the soap responds with soapy bubbles like that of which you'd find using liquid dish detergent. Dish detergent bubles last longer. Over the course of 3 days (3 shaves), I tried hard to work up anything close to a lather, but was unable. What appears foamy on the brush, mostly disappears once applied to your face. There is no lather, no cushion, and only barely adequate lubrication for a straight or safety razor. Now, combine all that with the lack of scent profile, and there is absolutely no reason to spend good money on this product. Just my opinion, but there are so many good (great even) shave soaps out there; this isn't one of them. I'd return this if I hadn't used it.

This soap has a terrible first impression on me. Firstly, it came looking broken within the wrapper. Most significant of all, its performance is terrible. I have given this soap several chances because it has a good scent. However, it never fails to disappoint. It seems that whoever formulated this soap had a concept of what makes a good bath soap, but, has no clue what makes a good shave soap; thinking they are both one and the same. The soap creates a decent lather at first, but, that lather dissipates and dries out very quickly. Once you're done shaving your cheek, the lather from all the other areas had already pretty much dried out and disappeared, forcing you to re-lather. The soap is very slick, as it should be, but, it offers little to no protection for your skin from a blade. No other shave soap had given me as bad and as consistent of a razor burn as this soap does. The puck itself looks to have little soap material denoted by edges lacking colour. It dries out very quickly, leaving a texture akin to dry candle wax. If there is a product that destroys the image of L'Occitane, this would be it. Selling what should be a regular bath soap for a shave soap at an inflated price. There is a wealth of shave soaps that performs significantly better but at a much more reasonable price. Tragic as I've heard that the huge drop in performance is from a change in formulation, which previously worked very well. It would be a scam if it was intentional; to cut cost, but sell at the same price, piggybacking on the good reviews of its preceding formulation.
