Doublecheck the Size!
I broke the little plate that holds in the limit screws on my original derailleur, so I ordered this as a replacement. I should’ve checked the size of the tube that this clamps to, because this one doesn’t fit. However, I was ready to ride! So I ended up taking the part I needed off of the new one and installing it on my original and it works like a charm.

Complicated Setup for a Front Derailleur, but it Works
Shimano really complicated the setup protocol for such a simple device. I couldn't believe that I needed to surf YouTube to learn how to install a front derailleur. Their manuals with line drawings are terrible. I hate the lateral support screw they specify to stabilize the derailleur. It requires that you affix a small protector plate on your seat tube (double-sided tape which slips). It's critical if your seat tube is carbon and good to have for metal frames. The good news is, that if you need a frame clamp to fit this braze-on version to your bike, the Shimano branded one extends downward for the support screw to contact it (you don't need the accessory plate). The clamp-on version of this derailleur sidesteps this support screw problem, but adjusting it remains the same head scratcher as the braze-on version.

Rather have the old style.
Way way too complicated. I also have a new fancy internal cable routings. Between the two I’m on my third cable. Next cable needs a cable adjuster in-line. Never enough cable tension in the mechanism. If this works it will be nice. Now, I can’t trust the bike while boondocking. One month later, after adding a cable adjuster it was working. Then it stopped working. The cable slipped through the set screw. So rebuild with the new cable again. So far so good.

Measure your down tube
Had to return this as I selected the wrong down tube diameter.
