Similar company product with same colour stands putchased about 12 years back. Worked well. Got struck up two days back. I searched for the same product and able to get the same brand with same colour. Excellent working.

This is the 1st time am buying a kettle and initially i bought Solara premium kettle with 1.8L storage. Even after multiple boils the burning smell was constantly coming from the water. That's the 1st time I came to know this is a well known issue with kettles. Then after help from customer support I managed to return the product and got a refund. A quick search in the questions section showed that almost all the kettles in amazon had the smells issue, even this havells one. With a doubt back in the mind and only with the brand trust i ordered. After getting the delivery when I opened the lid and sniffed the buring smell was there. Didn't even start the kettle but without any water itself the smell was evident. Felt really bad and started boiling the 1st water and the smell was very much evident. Then I poured off the water, cleaned the kettle with soap once and then the second time the smell was magically gone. Suggestions I got both online and from my sister is that 1. Never fill water till the exact max level. Half or little bit above half capacity is good 2. Never boil till the end that auto cut off kicks in Am doing both these things and now I can use the kettle peacefully without the burning smell. The cons for me are I feel is that solara felt premium and heavier than this one, not because of the capacity alone. And the cord length could have been a bit longer. Pro for me is the looks and color and the on/off button with light is unique and looks way better.

Butty and performance are fine. I purchase second time, Havells makes finest kettals of India.
