Didn't do what I needed, but has lots of functionalities
Bought this item when a crank position sensor replacement threw my obd into fits, causing the engine warning light to stay on. Several forums indicated that the crank sensor relearning procedure was part of the functionality of this item for GM autos. The setup process was a little lengthy, requiring registration of the scan tool and selecting and downloading one of the options for automaker choices. There are quite a few to choose from, but I chose the GM option. After downloading to the including micro sd card I started trying to get the tool to "Reteach" the CPU about the new crank sensor. Alas, after a few hours of learning the menus, submenus and exploring all the options I could not do this. Again, it plainly told me WHAT the problem was, but there was no way that I could discern to get the tool to trigger the relearn mode. Along the journey I learned that I could test and access MANY items, and perform a great deal of testing. In use the tool occasionally would freeze up if asked to change modes too quickly. My thought on this is likely the slow cpu and small amount of memory to reach the low price point may be at work here. Even without this functionality I seriously considered keeping this tool, in the end deciding to return it.

1996 chevy Silverado 1500
I really want to give a higher mark but can't at this point. Unit seems cheaply made but has very good features for my needs. I had to return item because unit stopped recognizing the memory card. I contacted dealer. They instructed me to purchase another memory card (I bought a Sandisk 16GB for $5) and to format it to Fat 32 and then reinstall all addons from Scanvilla software. This process was very slow. Did this 4 different times on 2 memory cards and unit still did not recognize card. It showed a black outline of the TF card on start up screen. The pros: I was able to set the timing using cam retard angle on my 1996 chevy Silverado and pull airbag codes. I was not able to gain access to the abs module. Then unit crapped out. I plan on rebuying item with extended protection plan and giving another go. I will attempt this ONLY because of the functionality vs price. It does do many functions hard to find on a unit of this price. Get it working and make the unit a little more robust feeling and you get 4.5 stars.

Defective, Poor support from manufacturer
The storage card reader that came with the unit was defective, would not read the card. Took a while to figure out what was the issue. I had to come up with a new card and reader to figure out the problem. Took me a few days as I did not have the time to mess with it. In touch with the manufacturer help line the whole time, NO HELP. INSULTING, kept telling me to follow the instructions which I told them I followed to the T. When I finally figured out the card reader was defective I asked them to send me a good one and they told me to go buy one myself! I should have returned it. I cannot recommend it.

Does not work well with Chrysler products
I purchased the Vident iLink 400 with the need to run my Chrysler 68RFE transmission through the quick learn process after replacing the solenoid pack. I also purchased (2) additional programs for Chevrolet and BMW to be able to use the tool on all of my vehicles. The Vident seems to work well with the BMW and Chevrolet but is very limited on it's ability to communicate with my Ram 2500 and will not establish communication to execute the 68RFE quick learn process. Long story short, if you are purchasing this product for a Chrysler vehicle. Be aware of it's limited ability to communicate with your vehicle and it's inability to perform transmission functions.

Works great for GM 6.5 turbo diesel timing issues
Blown away this does what it does for the money. Sure it sometimes locks up or freezes but for $120 it’s ridiculous.Bought it for GM and it does everything a GM Tech 2 scan tool does. Worked on my 6.5 turbo diesel just fine to relearn a new crank sensor and re-time a injection pump.I have another Autel scanner and I’m pretty sure this uses Autel programming as the downloading website looks very similar.Remember you get one vehicle make free and any additional makes are $60. Way cheaper than spending $1000 for a complete scanner when you just need it for one car

understand what it will do compared to what you want it to do
it arrived quickly but did not do what I thought would, the description was not clear and did not get a response when I inquired.

Best value I've found in diagnostic scanners
I sold off my Autel mini and my old OTC genisys on favor of this. It's affordable, easy to use, and compact. It doesn't nag me about software updates, and can be upgraded to cover other makes as needed (up to 3). Reads most cars faster than the high-end units, too. I'll probably get a second one to cover imports before long.

Zero communication from Tech support or Sales
My first unit died and I couldn't get support for it so I thought i would just buy another. Since I bought that one I have not been able to get anyone from the company to answer me. My ilink didn't come with the subaru lic I paid for and iscanzilla only shows my old unit serial number. Beware of the company for now
