This lead is probably more "industrial" looking than I would have liked for general use in the house but it is certainly very workmanlike. The cable is protected by a black heavy duty plastic sleeve which can be quickly wiped clean and lends itself to being used in a garage or workshop as well as in the house. A good solid square base to plug into is another plus. Probably in my case a hammer to crack a nut, but very solid and safe.

What is there to say it’s an extension lead and it’s 1metre long

As the installer pointed out, modern Washing machines are made with a shorter mains cable than older ones. All my existing extension cables were multi-socket and would not fit down beside the machine, but this simple single socket fits and has enough cable spare for any future change of location.
