NTE5a Master Socket with latest IDC connection & complete with backbox (BT Virgin Media compatible)

Bought this to replace a tired master socket but after internet browsing found that BT don't like it if you fit a NON BT socket and might refuse to work on your telephone system. This says it's from a "BT authorised factory" but that doesn't make it a "BT" socket. Unless it's got the BT logo stamped on the front, so beware !! I have fitted it and will have to hope I never need to call BT out to a fault.

This product does have the BT logo on the inside as advertised, and arrived in good condition. It includes the NTE5 master test socket and the internal consumer socket. However a big criticism is that the A and B IDC terminals for the external connection are not labelled - there are simply 3 terminals with no way to know which is which. This fact is not mentioned in the product description, hence I would not advise the DIY installer to buy it.

I originally thought I would not be able to use this as the first electrician said there was no instructions that he could understand and could not fit it!!! I considered sending it back. I am glad I didn't as a different electrian had it fitted in no time. Unfortunately, I still had the sound problem with my phone and had to purchase a new phone as well so it probably wasn't the socket afterall.

Good product, still work

After being told by SKY that my BT socket wasn't working, they credited my account by £3.57 and said, hey, buy a new one. After scouring hardware shops and DIY outlets, managed to get one online at Amazon £9.99. Works just like the old one did ,and still does, weren't the socket at all, but the SKY hardware, feeding back and knocking my router off. Any one need a BT socket?

Seller was most helpful in providing guidance and assistance with installation. As I am a complete novice, the seller walked me through step by step with installing the product.

I found that this item was just perfect for what I was doing in my home improvements for upgrading my telephone and broadband installations thank you.
