Reliable and easy to use
I used this brand several times already. I'm very happy with the quality of the tests and the service provided. Very reliable, and also very easy to use, both in the home and when you're shipping it out.

Compromised results!
When I received and opened the kit nearly a year ago, I was surprised to discover not one, but two detectors, in separate bags. I ASSUMED this was a packing error on the manufacturer's part. I re-read the Amazon product page and it said not a word about an extra detector. Nor did the instructions the unit came with. In any case, I went ahead and removed one detector from its bag and mounted it in my basement. Fast forward ten months, I have just sent the used detector in, and I just happen to open the second bag to discover that it includes an explanatory card. The card states that the extra detector in included INTENTIONALLY, and is meant to be mounted alongside the first to help verify the accuracy of the results. WHAT A WASTE! Now, when I do get my results, they will be without the assurance of any secondary results. Beyond that, just the fact that they feel the need to use an extra detector has undermined my confidence in the results I get. And the fact that I wasn't properly informed of the purpose of the extra detector suggests to me that this is not a serious company whose professionalism I can have any trust in. This is my second test of my basement for radon, and pretty soon I'll have to conduct another, because I now have no faith in whatever results come back to me.

Turned out to be a great tool - after if originally was lost in the mail
As a follow up - The test lab finally said they found it and did send a test report. ******************************************************************* Originally I said I mail it in - they say they never got it. . It has been 3 weeks - Pro-Lab said I should wait a bit longer - sometimes the mail is slow. . I'll wait a bit - then ask for either a free replacement or a refund from Pro-Lab. . I would note that a short term 3-7 day test kit can be purchased through the American Lung Association for $14 - this includes the test device, mailing and test results. This is a good quick start way to check for RADON.

Easy to use. Cost effective.
There is a $20 fee per device. Results were completed easily and are in line with previous test I have done.

Unreliable company.
The test was easy to perform. I mailed the kit back to be tested after 90 days, with the $20 payment. I waited and the "promised time" for results came and went. I waited a little longer and then called. It turns out the sample was tested but they forgot to send the results. They found my results in their database and sent the information by email in about 2 minutes. They admitted that if I hadn't called, I never would have received the results. I can't give a good recommendation due to their lack of reliability. Buy their kit if you want to, but write yourself a reminder to check on the results.

good price for long term radon checking
Arrived very quickly and in good condition. I can't actually review the test kit because it is being used. I can say that the price is great because you have to pay another $20 for the test results and most of the other test kits end up costing around $40. by the time you are finished.

LOOK CLOSE
Never would have purchased if I realized it was incomplete and to mailed in for a fee. NOT real evident in the ad..

Perfect
These tests are complete life savers. I use them for work. I would recommend them if you need answers on whether or not you have radon issues in your house.

USA-based, 3 month minimum
Pro-Lab does good work, I used them in the USA for several moves. They did (do?) have a short-term test (3 days I think) where you have to have your home locked up tightly - that is what I thought I was getting. THIS IS NOT THAT SHORT-TERM TEST. Instead, this test kit is activated and put in the area you want to test for a minimum of 3 months, and you live normally (no lock up). This is likely a better test as it simulates how you actually live, rather than look for a worst-case scenario. Now living in Canada, I was surprised that no company seems to make these tests here, and rather you need to ship your test to the USA for reading - but maybe I overlooked a supplier.

This product proved far more trouble than it was worth.
My neighbour asked me to order the radon gas detector my son had used to set up an extraction fan for his house in a neighbouring city. I ordered the 170 dollar item and it arrived the next day, to everyone's satisfaction. He asked me also to throw in this Pro-Lab test kit because it only cost 21 dollars, so I did. When it arrived a week later, he refused to accept it because he hadn't realized it requires a $30 dollar lab test in order to produce results. He wanted it returned. I explained that that is not how things work in our house. Return shipping takes time, harasses drivers, and costs half the value of the kit. I won't do this. This kit is not for the uninformed online shopper.

Peace of mind
Works as expected, just know there is an additional cost to have the test results done. I was happy to hear we are well under exposure limits.
