RM Series Replacement Remote Control for HUMAX FOXSAT-HDR

I've purchased a few of these because I've had the Humax for many years. Eventually the conductive paint on the rubber pads wears out and the buttons stop working. You can try taking it apart and repaint the pads with electro conductive paint - but it's a lot easier and cheap enough to just replace it! The replacements work great. Note: suddenly, the one I've been using for a few years literally just stopped working - so I ordered another one. I have since discovered that the chips inside are sensitive to humidity/moisture. I left it on a radiator for 10 minutes and it started working again - so now I have a spare for when the buttons wear out (which they will). BTW: If you have chip-based devices (clocks, dishwasher etc) that suddenly just stop working, and perhaps mysteriously, start again - you may have a moisture problem. Try drying them out with radiator/heater/blow dryer and see if that doesn't bring them back to life.

Bought for my mother who has the same Humax Foxsat HDR machine as we have. Her remote is not performing as it well as it should with some buttons needing a few presses to get them to work - but it is quite old now.Had high hopes for this remote having read reviews, and I will admit that it is nice and clearly laid out - felt it would better suit my Mum for this reason at least.I tested it on my home machine, and it seemed to be working perfectly, the box reacting exactly as it should to whichever button pressed. This was with me standing in front of the tv/box. I then decided to do a test from more of an angle to the box (one which more accuratelymirrors the position my Mum is in relation to the box) and the results were a deal breaker for me - it was nowhere near as good as the original Humax remote, needing more presses or even moving to a less narrow angle to get it to work. The Humax outperformed it completely in this regard, so I'm going to be sending this one back and buying the original Humax after all.If you are relatively square on (or even at (quite) a bit of an angle) to your box then you'll be fine, but I know it won't be good for where it is needed in our case. Oh, and for the record, I didn't use the crummy batteries that so often accompany this kind of product (at least they can get you started though) - I put in brand new Duracells for the test.

I was very pleased with the promptness that my order was dealt with. However I think there could have been troubleshooting information included with it as a week after I'd started using it suddenly stopped. With the info I was given, it is now working OK. But it was abit annoying

Advert details say it is 100% same functionality as Humax original remote. Not so. Original can also be programmed to operate tv/dvd/audio (very useful). This cannot. It arrived with a sticker on the back saying 'cannot operate other items'. This should have been stated in original advert details. I did get a refund with no quibble; but I would have preferred it if the details had been full and correct - it operated the humax hdr box, but not other items (unlike the original Humax remote).

I was sceptical that this would work just like the original remote at such a reduced price from the branded replacements. But for the money I thought I would take a chance and replace my sticky, unresponsive, several years old remote. I am so glad I did.I put some batteries in and bingo, it worked perfectly and has continued to do so. Yes the buttons take a bit of getting used to, but it took me a while to get the hang of it when I first got the old remote with my Humax box.Great replacement, great price and delivered promptly.

I was going to buy a new Humax remote until I read that most of the Humax remote's and the new replacements will only last a while before the same problems start again. I then read the reviews about this replacement remote control and thought well you only get what you pay for, but decided to try it. Well let me tell you, this remote is fantastic and what great value for money, I just put the new batteries in and pointed to the Humax box and it works perfectly, no more sticky and unresponsive remote, the keys are in a different order but you will soon learn the new lay out. I am 100% satisfied.

Purchased this to replace lost R/C for Humax Foxsat satalite receiver.GOOD; For the price (40% cheaper than original) quality is OK. Button layout is not the same as original, but all buttons clearly labeled.BAD; some the frequency's are the same as my BT YouView box...so my TV occasionally switches av signal from Humax to BT Box.... On/off button will not switch on Humax box, you have to enter a channel number.Overall for the price would recommend.
