Norens are curtains for doorways used in homes, businesses and restaurants. The Japanese have been using them for hundreds of years to great effect. In private homes, Japanese norens are used to separate rooms and doorways, while in businesses they are used with the intention of denoting the specialty of the shop. At restaurants, Japanese norens serve to create a sense of privacy for the customers. Besides having a practical function, Japanese norens are also meant to add an air of beauty to any space. Simply place a rod through the upper part of the noren and hang from any doorway. One may walk right through the middle of the noren, where it splits into two. Nice Noren!
This is my 3rd Noren from Amazon and it's the nicest of them all. I bought the trees (with small cat) version and it's lovely. The material is more substantial than the polyester ones I had previously. This one is more like a woven cotton - not smooth like sheets but not overly rough either. The edges are nicely stitched and the door opening is pre-cut and hemmed almost all the way to the top. The last few inches at the top of the opening were sewn together, but it was easy to snip it apart to separate the curtain into 2 pieces. I hung this on a simple 38" sash rod placed above my door frame rather than hanging a rod inside the frame. It looks great hung this way and it kept my woodwork intact. I'm very pleased with this purchase!

Not symmetrical
Although I love this noren the only problem is that one side is about 1 inch longer than the other. I don’t see a way to contact the seller. Otherwise I would ask for an exchange.

Cute doorway curtain
Nice quality, homie design. I just wish they offer more artwork designs for me to choose from. The rod pocket is a bit small, I tried very hard to put the tension rod in.

Not the best quality compared to the two other kinds I have
I hung two up and they both had about a 4 inch gap between the two panels at the very bottom. My other ones hung closer together. Also the fabric seems a little thin compared to my other ones

Exactly what I needed.
This was perfect to put up in the preschool office to stop the little ones from distracting us. Would defiently order again.
