Ares and the Spear of Fear (7) (Heroes in Training)

My 7 yr old son in 2nd grade started the Heroes in Training series this school year. He is an avid reader and absolutely LOVES this book series. He attends a classical school where they learn Greek Mythology so this ties in nicely with his curriculum. If you have a girl who is interested in this series, have them check out the Goddess Girl series - my 4th grade daughter is reading those - same concept but geared toward girls. A bit young for her reading level but because she really enjoys Greek Mythology so she enjoyed many of that series. Both of these series are a good starter to gauge interest if they have considered the Percy Jackson series - those are MUCH thicker books and a higher reading level, more like 4th grade and up for the average reader - those are rooted in Greek Mythology as well.

The book was so amazing I can't wait for the next one I hope it comes out soon and I recommend the book to all that are thinking about buying it even thought it had two mistakes it is amazing and yes I said it again so go ahead and buy it because it is thrilling, fun and it has a lot of thing to learn about they also have more books in the series so you can read them I read them all and loved them so as I said buy it !

These books are great for early readers. They are usually only a little over 100 pages. They have a basis in Greek mythology but do create a new storyline. Each book a new hero is added. They are great stories and fun to read. Highly recommend.

My son raced through this series. Loved it. Made him want to know more about the Greek Gods.

The Heroes in Training series is hilarious. This is a perfect way to introduce kids to Greek mythology. These books are fairly simple to read, aimed at about third or fourth grade level. My grandson has really enjoyed them.

I like the book because I am interested in Greek Mythology. I didn't like how long it was. It is a good book.
