The guard works fine, but the heater sucks
The heater sucks, and the guard does a good job of protecting from hand burns

Works great, smells really bad
Great heater, however, smells really bad, and it hasn't gone away. We've had it for about 2 weeks now, and I have to use an air purifier in my office along with the heater in order to be able to work. The instructions with the heater says the smell should go away after a few days but all it has done is going from smelling really really bad (first 2-3 days) to bad. Other than the odor that is so bad you can't stand to be in the same room with it, the heater works great, and a great concept.

Neat design...products have some issues
Review in three parts:Heater. Heater works very well. I found it easily heats a room of 12x17. It does create convection and so the heat does follow like a small breeze. The flat panel design is nice as my kids leave it alone. As noted in the specs the heater itself gets to a temperature that is hot but not enough to burn and inquisitive child. Unfortunately our 1st one cracked but a replacement was quickly sent a replacement.Heat shield gizmo. Instructions are not clear. They make limited sense and provide no pictures. Does it refract and provide space shuttle like heat for less?... I don’t know but I would not buy it again. The hardware for the heater is not great and the heat shield is just too much weight for light weight wall anchors.Company who sells the heater. These folks are polite and responsive. They are very customer oriented which made my purchase an excellent experience.

Great help to reduce surface temp.
I had ordered 2 units to cover 2 heat panels that I had purchased a year apart. The hardware supplied with the panel I purchased 2 years ago was different than the panel I bought a year ago. Neither were exactly what was mentioned in the instructions. With a little modification I was able to fit it onto both panels. I painted the panels to match the wall. The paint worked as an adhesive to keep the new brackets in place. All in all I think this was a good investment.
