Do you need media polish with this like corn ?

Yes, I use about 1/2 teaspoon of red jeweler's rouge and 1-2 tablespoons or so of mineral spirits in a typical tumbler charge. Leave cover off for "drying" 1/2 hour then add your brass. The Mineral spirits binds the rouge to the media and cuts down on dusting.

The description says walnut but the details say corn cob. Which is it?

John, this media is a finely ground walnut. It cleans the brass in less time than corn cob, but is a little bit dustier.

Can I use this in Soapmaking?

Walnut Hull Media is somewhat soft which makes it good for cleaning shell cases. The shell pieces {grit} may be to large for soap unless you can grind them into a smaller bits. Just my guess.

What size grit is it?

It is about three times the size of a grain of sand. Some just a little bigger.
