Archbishop Chaput wrote a prophetic little book every Catholic would benefit from reading
I have very little to contribute regarding the content of the book. Other reviewers have worded it better than I could. This is a basic review of what it means to live our Catholic faith as Americans. What I want to comment on are the elegance and clarity of Archbishop Chaput's language AND how prophetic his vision was.His Excellency has a grace of expression, natural and fluid. He's easy to read, the way Bishop Barron is easy to read because you can hear his voice behind the rhythm of the words. I've not been honored to hear much more than sound bites from His Excellency Archbishop Chaput, but I can recognize his distinctive rhythm. His written word speaks directly to the faithful and lodges in our hearts.I bought this in January 2016 and only recently read it. I continually looked back at the publication date. His Excellency knew exactly where our country was headed 15 years ago. He spoke out about issues that are only now making headlines and only now waking up faithful Catholics to the real dangers of the secular world. The Church is blessed to have leaders like Archbiship Chaput. I wish he were the bishop of my diocese, but he's not, and I have to make due with a bishop who exudes the secular zeitgeist in most ways.

I love Archbishop Chaput's writings
I love Archbishop Chaput's writings. Though this is an earlier boook of his I just read it this week. I'm helping out at an RCIA class (instruction for adults who want to be Catholic) and felt I needed a refresher. There's a lot in the Catholic faith and I think we all need good reminders. I would recommend this book to any serious Catholic who wants a refresher and especially to those discerning the Catholic faith. Chaput is an incredibly decent and caring man. But he does not sugarcoat Catholicism. He does not dodge difficult issues. I'd also sugges that anyone who want to understand our faith better this is a great place to start. Also, for those who are interested in the way the Church should engage the secular culture I would highly recommend Chaput's "Render Unto Caesar." Simply an incredibl work.

"I want to walk the walk"
A Baptism is more than a family photo opportunity inside a church. It is an essential. If (like me) you forget that baptism is something that we experience daily, then, this very readable book is for you. Archbishop Charles is incredibly interesting and for anyone who wants to go a little deeper, the references he cites include very lively websites and popular platforms in modern media that my "christian sense of prudence" had already discounted. It is a joy to enter these realms of instant media thinking "If Archbishop Charles visits this site, or reads this author, so can I". This book helps to think through many of the cultural and personal situations we are presented with every week. I referenced or quoted Archbishop Charles from this book on several occaisions with positive Catholic-based results.

Practical ideas for living as a Catholic in the 21st century
The book offers practical thoughts on living the faith and modeling the faith to others.I like the book because it presents some appropriate thinking about the Catholic faith which we are discussing throughout the 6 week period of Lent. The discussion is ongoing and so far the book has been helpful.

Pages are missing and the pages there are not even in order
Unfortunately I did not start reading this until after the 30-day return window ... I barely got through the first 50 pages and every page thereafter is out of order, and many pages are missing. It would have been nice to be able to read the entire book, but now I won't even have that chance because I can no longer return an item that is obviously defective

Short to the Point Information to Christians
Excellent, informative and an important guide to being a good Christian and citizen who follows the word of Christ and not the word of the latest fade or thoughts on issues related to morals, ethics and responsibility to fellow man. I highly recommend this book for citizens and Christians who care!
