Not great for long distance measurements
It is great for short distance measurements.Long range, upward of 50’ Nitterhouse so much. This was the reason I bought the thing, to measure long spans outside. So I don’t use it much.

Really nice unit that is compact in size and rich in features
I didn’t purchase this unit from Amazon, that’s why it’s not verified but I must say it is a really , really nice laser measure. It’s all touchscreen so they’re not a lot of buttons to fumble around with And it comes with a very useful free app that you can get from either the play store Or the Apple App Store. I’m a housing inspector and after natural disasters and spec out peoples damage dwellings and try to get them some assistance from the government, I’ve been doing it since 2002 so I have had quite a few different measuring tools starting with measuring wheels, ultrasonic measures then the laser measures as they have become popular in the last 8 or so years. They have become smaller and more feature rich as time has gone by. Like I said earlier I have went through a lot of different units, probably eight or so laser measures usually opting for the smaller sized Bosch units ( since they are smaller and easier to carry and seem to be fairly reliable in the field ) Well about two months ago I dropped it and it cracked so I decided to get something different that was a little bit more high-end and after doing some research I decided on this unit and I’ve got to say it is really accurate has a lot of really neat features on it with four times zoom so you can actually aim at your target if you have to use it outside and it’s too bright to see your red dot. It’s a well made Tool that is nice and grippy them feels good in your hand as well as being a water resistant So if you drop it in a puddle just try to get it out quick and clean it off and you’re good to go. They have them from 80 m on up so if you’re not looking to spend a lot you can get one of the ones that doesn’t Measure as far still has all the features as this one. Hopefully I’ll get quite a few years of service out of it as it seems very well-built and pretty rugged, as the months passed by I may revise my review on some of the pros and cons as I run into them. I didn’t hardly touch on all the features of this unit but do a quick read and you’ll see it’s got just about everything on it you could possibly need or want to use.

Camera and point to point works well
Touch display is very nice. It is very nice to have all the commands by touch screen. It's not as bright in camera mode as the expensive models are, but it didn't seem to bother me. The camera is aligned very closely to the laser, and the zoom works well. I am very happy with the ability to measure in sun light.Point to point is just awesome. I measured a 20 foot span and it was accurate to within an inch!It does go through battery's quite fast. It's a good thing they are rechargeable. The app they make for it also works well. You do have to connect to blue tooth each time - it does not auto connect, but you only need to "pair" it once. All in all, I think this is a much better buy than the much more expensive unit. Leica is the only other model to have point to point, and it is 3 to 5 times the cost and does not work that much better.

CAMERA Makes unit use full. Useless outdoors daylight hours
Camera allows you to to varify measure point up to unit limit. Since laser not visible after 30 to 40 ft in daylight. Screen brightness marginal in sunlight.
