In order for believers to grow in grace, the memorization of the Scripture is invaluable. Many have tried and failed. But this Navigator's "Topical Memory System" has been time-tested and proven effective.1. It is a "system" -- this is not a collection of random verses without anything to hold onto. Remember that older Topical Memory System Package: Hide God's Word in Your Heart does not have some of the newer Bible versions.4. It also comes with study guide to review and practice the memorization. This is excellent, because it brings memorization into useful personal Bible Study. It also provides 2 diagrams to bring series (A) and (B) more impressionable to the mind.5. It also comes with a vinyl pouch to put the memory cards. Outside pocket is transparent so you could conveniently memorize the verse.I've tried The MacArthur Scripture Memory System (others might find it more suitable), but at least for me, it was not as effective as Navigators. If you are serious about memorization, this tool will help you achieve that goal. Highly recommended.

I first learned of this on 1970 while in the Army. It's a well-designed system for memorizing key Bible verses that help one understand God's love and share it.

These cards and booklets help to remember verses of the Bible. It helps a lot, but remember that Practice makes perfect.

Normally this reviewer deals mainly with book reviews but I felt the need to review this memorization system because of the personal help I received from it. This course is one of the keys to effective discipleship. When I was in the military, I found that the memorization of Scripture was one of the most effective means of growth in personal life and ministry. So the Topical Memory System became part and parcel of my life.So although I advanced in theological studies, I recently realized that I needed to get back to regular intake of Scripture through memorization of verses covering the various aspects of the Christian life.The Topical Memory System includes a workbook with an additional booklet of verses that can be carried in the pocket or purse to profit from spare moments during the day.This system has been adopted by the leadership in our local church and already we can see the difference in lives as we encourage others to do the same.One caveat is that by learning short verses from various parts of the Bible one risks to end up with texts separated from their context. So I encourage embedding the text in its biblical context to avoid this. This is partly done by attaching the verse reference to the verse itself.The course workbook is an invaluable part of the memorization process since it shows how the different verses fit into life by means of explanations and diagrams. This workbook also details the five main divisions of verses into 1) living the new life; 2) proclaiming Christ; 3) relying on God's resources; 4) being Christ's disciple; and 5) growing in Christlikeness.Memorize Scripture and apply it to life and spiritual growth will take place

I was given this system 30 years ago and went through it. It gave me foundational scriptures to memorize that still come up from my memory when trials come. It has a nice study method that shows you how to read and meditate on scripture and how to memorize. I give this to every new believer to start them off right. Navigators publishes this and they have a great reputation for solid publications.

I purchased the paperback version of this system and I really like it. Recently, I purchased the kindle version, but cannot find the memory cards??? Maybe it is error on my behalf because I am still in the learning curve on the kindle. I would suggest this system to anyone who desires to hide God's word in their heart.

I was given this very soon after becoming a Christian in 1980. It was extremely helpful in my growth. I just bought this set to give away.

I have always wanted to memorize scripture, but never was able to really accomplish it. This product has changed that. This kit includes a book with hints on how to memorize scripture, a method to help you use the scriptures for witnessing, and a set of memory cards which will help you to memorize the scripture.What has helped me the most is the verse cards and holder. It is very easy to carry this product in your pocket and review it while waiting in line. What I personally do is place the verse holder on my dashboard (I'm only covering up the fuel indicator and gear lights - who needs those!) and then I can glance down at stop signs, stop lights and the such.The other thing I like is there is a variety of translations for you to use. This is an improvement over previous versions. The card holder is a thick vinyl, which should last a while but I fear will not last forever (though Navigators sell replacements). You can also find templates online to make your own scripture memory cards such as at [....]Overall, this product is worth list price (if not more) and Amazon's discounted price makes it much more of a deal!

Great book/system, if like me you have wanted to know the bible, to understand it and be able to memorize it and quote from it but have a memory shorter than a goldfish this book and cards are a perfect way to acieve that. It is so simple but so effective that it is working straight away. Whilst you start to memorize the first quote the bible for me has come alive again and confidence to be able to grow effectively as a christian is greater now than ever before. Dont think about it just buy it. All i have to do now is work on my spelling and punctuation !

My wife and I have been using the Navigators system to memorize Scripture. We heard about the system while my wife was reading a book by Gerry Bridges of Navigators, who highly recommended the system after using it in his own life.The system is tremendously helpful. Before, we would memorize whatever verse appealed to us. Our efforts, while sincere, were haphazard. (On my own, I memorized alot of stuff on moral depravity! Hmmmm....) This system has a plan that organizes salient verses into topics which touch on the major components of the Christian life. The topics include: (1) Christ the Centre, (2) Obedience to Christ, (3) The Word, (4) Prayer, etc. Each topic has two biblical verses assigned to it. So, for instance, for the topic Christ the Centre you memorize 2 Corinthians 5.17 and Galatians 2.20. By arranging the verses into topics, you memorize verses that will help you give a coherent witness of the gospel.When evangelizing, you will be able to repeat what the word of God says about being in Christ, obeying Christ, the authority of his word, the power of prayer, etc. Thus, you will be grounded in the objective truth of God's word rather than subjective truth of your personal experience. This makes all the difference when evangelizing. Oftentimes, a personal story of God's amazing grace substitutes the witness of God's word. This system is highly recommended. Well done, Navigators.

I've tried other memorization tools but this classic just makes things easier. Be sure to follow the book, which gives helpful structures and mnemonic diagrams that help keep the verses in sync with one another, and remember: there is no substitute for verbal repetition!

Have you ever had an idea from the Bible that you wanted to share but were not sure of where it is in the Bible or the exact words? This system is an excellent way to overcome that! I am using it with my wife and we found it superb, we are actually remembering the verses word by word, which we never did before! And it's not just the verses, but the reference as well, so we know exactly where to go to in the Bible, this is the best method we've used so far, and we would recommend this to anybody who wants to memorise Bible verses.
